Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Christchurch City Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the Acts amending the same respectively.

We hereby give notice that on the 16th day of July, 1908, a proposal was submitted by the Christchurch City Council to the ratepayers of the City of Christchurch for raising a special loan of £17,000 for the extension of and alteration to the city electrical plant, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 385; against, 258.

And we declare the said proposal to be carried.

Forbidding Money-orders and Correspondence for the Eucrasy Company, Sydney, and others.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the company and the persons whose names and addresses are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in advertising the treatment of diseases of the sexual organs, it is hereby ordered, under section 9 of “The Post Office Act Amendment Act, 1906,” that no money-order in favour of the said company or persons shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said company or persons (either by their own or any fictitious or assumed name), or to such addresses without a name, shall be either registered, forwarded, or delivered by the Post Office of New Zealand.
