INNER ROUTE, TORRES STRAIT.—CAPE BOWLING GREEN LIGHTHOUSE.

Notice is hereby given that, the sea having encroached on the site of Cape Bowling Green Lighthouse to such an extent as to justify the removal of the apparatus, a temporary light will be exhibited from the flagstaff, but, as such is only visible for a short distance, masters of vessels navigating that vicinity should not approach to the westward of the track recommended.

Charts affected: No. 348; “Australia Directory,” Vol. ii.

JOHN MACKAY,

Marine Department,
Brisbane, 18th May, 1908.

SPENCER GULF.—APPROACH TO PORT LINCOLN.—POINT FANNY.

Masters of vessels, pilots, and others are informed that the beacon on Point Fanny, Boston Island, Port Lincoln, was blown down on the 13th instant, and will be re-erected at the earliest possible moment.

This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 1061, 2389B, and 784.

ARTHUR SEARCY,
President of the Marine Board.

Marine Board Offices,
Port Adelaide, 18th May, 1908.

NAVIGATION PORT PIRIE RIVER.—CAUTION.

Masters and pilots of deep-draught vessels are hereby cautioned not to enter the Port Pirie Creek if another large vessel is seen to be coming outwards until such vessel is past No. 1 light-beacon.

Vessels bound outwards should not leave the wharf if another large vessel has already entered the creek until such vessel is up to the port and the channel clear. Under any circumstances vessels having to pass each other in the creek should endeavour to do so in the straight parts of the channel.

ARTHUR SEARCY,
President of the Marine Board.
