First Meeting of Greymouth Fire Board.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Fire Brigades Act, 1907, I, John George Findlay, Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby appoint the Borough Council Chambers, Greymouth, at 8 o’clock in the afternoon, on Monday, the 29th day of June, 1908, to be the place and date for holding the first meeting of the Greymouth Fire Board.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in the Boundaries of the Borough of Wanganui.

Wellington, 20th June, 1908.

PURSUANT to section 176 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him, praying that the said area may be excluded from the County of Wanganui and included in the Borough of Wanganui. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE ADDED TO THE BOROUGH OF WANGANUI.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded towards the north generally by a right line from a point on the east bank of the Wanganui River bearing 305° 34′ from the northernmost corner of Allotment No. 13 on plan No. 1148, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar, at Wellington, to the said northernmost corner of that allotment, and thence by Fox Street to its junction with Paterson Street; thence towards the north-east by Paterson Street; and towards the east by the continuation of Paterson Street in a southerly direction to its junction with No. 2

line of road on the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 29, Block V, Ikitara Survey District; thence towards the south-west by the said Section No. 29, Manawakowara No. 3 Block, the southern side of Blyth Street, and its production to the east bank of the Wanganui River; and thence towards the west by the Wanganui River to the place of commencement.

THE following special order, made by the Egmont County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

COUNTY OF EGMONT.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the amendments thereof, the Council of the County of Egmont hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £400 (such loan being 10 per centum additional of the original loan of £4,000), authorised to be raised by the Council of the County of Egmont, under the above-mentioned Act, for rebuilding the following bridges—namely, the Oaonui Bridge, Main South Road, Rahotu Riding; the Waiaua Bridge, Main South Road, between the Rahotu and Opunake Ridings; the Ouri Bridge, Eltham-Opunake Road, Oeo Riding; the Oeo Bridge, Eltham-Opunake Road, Oeo Riding; the Ouri Bridge, Skeet Road, Oeo Riding—the said Council of the County of Egmont hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/30d. in the pound upon the whole of the rateable value of all rateable property in the Egmont County: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable annually on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-two years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a special order made by the Council of the County of Egmont at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 8th day
