northern boundary of the said Section No. 5 meets the
Adelaide Road; thence across the Adelaide Road to the

2, and 1, Evans Bay District, to where the western boundary
of the said Section No. 1 meets a road running along the
shore of Lambton Harbour; thence across the said road to
high-water mark; thence by the waters of Port Nicholson to
a point on high-water mark due east of the starting-point;
thence by a line due west to the starting-point.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly
adopted at a special meeting of the Wellington City Council
held on the 26th day of March, 1908, and was duly confirmed
at an ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 23rd day
of April, 1908.

Borough of Ashburton, is published in accordance
with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1901."

ASHBURTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
In the matter of "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,"
and of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," and the
acts amending the same respectively.

I HEREBY give public notice that on the 1st day of May,
1908, a proposal was submitted by the Ashburton Borough
Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Ashburton for
raising a special loan of £15,000 for the purpose of construct-
ing waterworks for the supply of pure water for the use of
the inhabitants of the said borough, and that the number of
votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was
as follows: For, 300; against, 234.

And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

Revocation of Appointment of Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the authority in me for this
purpose vested, I, the Minister of Customs, do by
this order under my hand revoke and annul the appoint-
ment of the undermentioned warehouse for the reception
and security of goods entered to be warehoused without
payment of duty upon the first entry thereof, namely,—

Port of Tauranga.
The warehouse known as
MANN AND CO.'S BOND,
as appointed and described in Minister's Order No. 193, of
the 10th day of December, 1883.

Approving and appointing a Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this
purpose vested by "The Customs Laws Consoli-
dation Act, 1882," I, the Minister of Customs, do hereby
approve and appoint the undermentioned warehouse to
be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond,
namely,—

Port of Tauranga.

Portion of a brick building, roofed with iron, situated on
Allotment No. 4, Section No. 1, of the Town of Tauranga,
to be known as
THE TAURANGA BONDED STORE.

COMMUNICATIONS WITH LLOYD'S SIG.-STATIONS BY MORSE.
LLOYD'S SIG.-STATIONS.—At the following stations, in addi-
tion to the ordinary pyrotechnic night sigs., arrangements
have been made to take in any messages made by a fl. lamp
with the Morse code: Dover, Nomans Fort, Prawle Pt.,
Lizard, Old Head of Kinsale, Brow Head. Feb., 1908.

AFRICA.
MOSSEL BAY.—The F. lt. in 34° 11' S., 22° 9' E., on the
jetty-head at Aliwal, shows red from S. 22° W. to S. 37° W.,
and green when bearing to the wrd. of S. 37° W. Also, the
F. red lt. prev. exh. in Erme Bay, about 1 mile to the
wrd., has been disc. Feb.
ZAVARA PT.—A lt.-h. is reported to be in course of constr.
on this pt. (24° 28 1/2' S., 35° 12 3/4' E.). Jan.

EASTERN ARCHIPELAGO, ETC.
SINGKEP ISL.—A pinnacle rk., carrying 8 ft., exists in
0° 39 3/4' S., 104° 15 1/4' E., about 6 cables erd. of the srn. end of
Serak Isl., off the W. coast of Singkep Isl. It has been
charted as a rk. carrying less than 6 ft. Feb.
BERHALA STRAIT.—The est. of the black lt.-buoy, exh. an
occ. white lt., vis. 10 secs., ecl. 10 secs., in 0° 52 1/4' S., 104°
24 1/4' E., near the srn. pt. of Berhala Isl., has been post-
poned. Feb.
SURABAYA STRAIT.—The red conical buoy surm. by a ball,
in 6° 51 1/4' S., 112° 33 3/4' E., marking the nrn. edge of the bank
off Ujung Panka, nrn. entr. to the strait, is to be replaced
by a white lt.-buoy, exh. an occ. white lt., vis. 10 secs.,
ecl. 10 secs. March.
BALI STRAIT.—BANSERING.—Bansering front leading-lt.
(8° 4' S., 114° 25 3/4' E.) has been altered from F. red to fl. red
every 3 secs.—fl. 1 sec., ecl. 2 secs.—R. 9 miles. March.

CHINA SEA, ETC.
HONG KONG.—The time-ball is now dropped from a mast
in 22° 18' N., 114° 10 1/4' E., at the sig.-station on the summit
of the hill, about 1 cable N.-wrd. of Chinsalchui Pt., instead
of as prev. from near the police-station on the Kaulung Pt.
March.
Prohibited Anchorage.—The limits of the prohibited
anchorage in the vicinity of the submarine tel. cables be-
tween N. pt. (22° 17 3/4' N., 114° 11 3/4' E.), Hong Kong Isl., and
the S.-ern. pt. of Kaulung have been altered as shown on
the reproduction of a portion of Admiralty Chart No. 1466
on page 122 of the B. of T. notices, 1st March, 1908.
The front beacons marking the limits of this prohibited
anchorage consist, as prev., of a white post carrying a red
diamond shape, and showing at night a F. red lt.; the ern.-
most lts. are obsc. to the erd., and the wrn.-most lts. to
the wrd. The rear beacons are white masonry obelisks.
March.
BIAS BAY.—Two rocky shoals exist in the bay, one carry-
ing 4 1/2 fms., in 22° 36 1/4' N., 114° 38 1/2' E., with the Pillars
summit S. 14° E. 4 1/2 cables, and Hat Rk. N. 86° W. There
are depths of 7 fms. around this shoal. One carrying 1 3/4
fms., with Outer Rk. off Bias Pt. S. 75° W. 8 3/10 cables,
Mendoza Isl. summit S. 48° E. There are depths of 6 fms.,
mud btm., close around this shoal. Feb.
SAM SA INLET.—An iron beacon, surm. by a spher. cage
elev. 12 ft., is est. on Channel Rk., in 26° 31 3/4' N., 119° 48 1/4'
E., entr. to Sam Sa Inlet. March.
TINGHAI HARB.—The beacon in 30° 0 1/4' N., 122° 6' E.,
marking Parry Rks., has been destroyed. Feb.
