Land taken for a Gravel-pit in Block II, Wakanui Survey District, Wakanui Road District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1905,” for a certain work, to wit, for the purpose of a gravel-pit in Block II, Wakanui Survey District:
And whereas the Wakanui Road Board has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a gravel-pit.

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this second day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eight.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing 3 acres and 37·3 perches, more or less, being portion of Section 76, Block XI, Drury Survey District, situate in the Parish of Karaka, at Paerata, on the Auckland–Tauranga Railway, and being bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the south-easternmost corner of the railway reserve in said Section 76; thence north-westerly by lines bearing 327° 53′, 341° 00′, and 327° 53′ respectively, distances of 1261·5 links, 440·7 links, and 1521·4 links respectively; thence south-westerly by a line at a bearing of 250° 47′, a distance of 102·6 links; thence south-easterly by lines bearing 147° 53′, 161° 00′, and 147° 53′ respectively, distances of 1532·8 links, 440·7 links, and 1269·3 links respectively; and thence north-easterly by a line at a bearing of 60° 00′, a distance of 100·1 links, to the commencing-point: as the said parcel of land is more particularly delineated on the plan marked 14709, deposited in the office of the Minister for Railways, at Wellington, and thereon coloured purple.

Revoking Order in Council prohibiting the Removal of Potatoes from New Zealand to the Chatham Islands.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of April, 1908.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the eighth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and six, and appearing in the New Zealand Gazette of the seventeenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and six, the carrying coastwise of potatoes from any part of New Zealand to that part of the Dominion known as the Chatham Islands was prohibited:
And whereas it is advisable to remove such prohibition:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section one hundred and seventy-six of “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth by this present Order revoke the aforesaid Order dated the seventeenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and six.

Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road in the Karaka Road District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Kaipara–Waikato Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road:
And whereas it has been certified by the Minister for Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes: And whereas such land is situated in the Karaka Road District, the local authority of which has assented to the issue of this Proclamation:
And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said road:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section one hundred and ninety-seven of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be under the control of the Karaka Road Board, and shall be maintained by the said Board in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Board.
Exempting from Duty “The Tauranga Bonded Store,” Port of Tauranga.
