Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Feilding, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

BOROUGH OF FEILDING.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at the poll taken this day upon the proposal of the Council of the Borough of Feilding to raise a special loan of £2,250 for the construction of swimming-baths, caretaker’s cottage, and the purchase of necessary land for same, erection of public urinals, and improvement of entrances to the Town of Feilding, the following votes were recorded: For the proposal, 216 votes; against the proposal, 64 votes; informal, 6 votes.

As the number of votes recorded for the proposal exceeds the number of votes recorded against the proposal, I hereby declare the proposal carried.

HUNTERVILLE TOWN DISTRICT.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

In the matter of “The Towns Districts Act, 1881,” and amendments, and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and amendments.

I HEREBY give notice that on the 11th day of April, 1908, a proposal was submitted by the Hunterville Town Board to the ratepayers of the Hunterville Town District for raising a special loan of £5,000 for the following purposes: (a) Works for the supply of water to the Hunterville Town District; (b) works of drainage and sewerage in the said district. And that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 139; against the proposal, 47; informal, 1.

And I further declare the said proposal to be carried.

ELTHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposed Loan of £6,500.

NOTICE is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Eltham (including all persons entitled to vote on proposals to raise loans) was taken at the Borough Chambers, Bridge Street, Eltham, on Wednesday, the 15th day of April, 1908, upon the following proposal, viz.: To borrow, under Part II of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.” and its amendments, the sum of £6 500 for the purpose of engaging in the following undertakings, viz.:

(1.) For making streets within the Borough of Eltham .. .. .. £ 2,750
(2.) For water and drainage extensions within the Borough of Eltham .. .. 3,750
Total .. .. .. .. £6,500

And on such poll the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was: For the proposal, 68 votes; against the proposal, 31 votes.

I therefore hereby declare the said proposal to be duly carried.

Approving and appointing a Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” I, the Minister of Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the undermentioned warehouse to be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond, namely, —

Port of Auckland.

Part of cellar of a brick building, roofed with iron, situated on Allotment 19 and part of 20, Section 18, corner of Federal Street and Custom Street West, to be known as

LANGGUTH’S BOND.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Hairdressers’ Saloons in the Borough of Onehunga under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the hairdressers’ saloons in the Borough of Onehunga, has been forwarded to me, desiring that the hours of closing of all such saloons in the Borough of Onehunga shall be at 1 p.m. on the statutory closing-day; 10 p.m. on one day, which shall be Wednesday in the case of those observing Saturday as the half-holiday, and Saturday in the case of those observing Wednesday as the half-holiday; and 8.30 p.m. on the other four working-days of the week, except on the day previous to a public holiday, when work shall cease at 10 p.m.: And whereas the Onehunga Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all hairdressers’ saloons within the Borough of Onehunga:

Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and section 5 of “The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” do hereby direct that from and after the 4th day of May, 1908, all hairdressers’ saloons in the Borough of Onehunga shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

Cancellation of Notices fixing Closing-hours of all Shops in the Borough of Port Chalmers.

WHEREAS by notice dated the 5th day of February, 1906, and gazetted on the 8th day of February, 1906, the Minister of Labour, in exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred by section 21 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and section 5 of “The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” and acting in accordance with a requisition duly made and certified as required by those sections, did direct that from and after the 19th day of February, 1906, all shops in the Borough of Port Chalmers should be closed at 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, at 9.30 p.m. on Saturdays, and at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays (the weekly half-holiday): And whereas by a further notice dated the 25th day of February, 1907, and gazetted on the 28th day of February, 1907, the Minister of Labour did, as aforesaid, direct that from and after the 11th day of March, 1907, all furniture-dealers’ shops in the Boroughs of the City of Dunedin and Roslyn and Port Chalmers should be closed at 6 p.m. on each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and at 1 p.m. on each Saturday:

And whereas by a like requisition, duly made and certified, the Minister of Labour has been requested to cancel the former notice, and also the latter notice in so far as it refers to the Borough of Port Chalmers:
