Special Order making and levying a Special Rate.

Copy of Resolution adopted at a Special Meeting of the Council held on Saturday, 21st March, 1908.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Hawera County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £63,000, authorised to be raised by the Hawera County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the constructing, providing, and establishing the public works which are hereafter enumerated—

the said Hawera County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⁹⁄₁₆d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the districts comprising the Hawera, Ararata, Meremere, and Mokoia Ridings (outlying districts) of the Hawera County, the boundaries of which are specifically set out on page 238 of the New Zealand Gazette of the 24th January, 1907; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off; and that the interest to be paid on such loan (or on so much thereof as shall from time to time be raised, or on any addition thereto) shall be at the rate of 5½ per cent. per annum.

I hereby certify that the resolution initiating the above special order was duly passed at a special meeting of the Council held on Saturday, the 21st day of March, 1908, and duly confirmed at an ordinary meeting held on Thursday, the 23rd day of April, 1908.

BOROUGH OF FEILDING.

Public notice is hereby given that at the poll taken this day upon the proposal of the Council of the Borough of Feilding to raise a special loan of £15,000 for the purpose of extension of the present sewerage system, and the completion and the extension of the present drainage system by construction of concrete channelling and kerbing in various streets in the Borough of Feilding, the following votes were recorded: For the proposal, 235 votes; against the proposal, 45 votes; informal, 7 votes.

As the number of votes recorded for the proposal exceeds the number of votes recorded against the proposal, I hereby declare the proposal carried.

BOROUGH OF FEILDING.

Public notice is hereby given that at the poll taken this day upon the proposal of the Council of the Borough of Feilding to raise a special loan of £2,000 for the purpose of footpath formation within the Borough of Feilding, and tarring and sanding the footpaths within the said Borough of Feilding, the following votes were recorded: For the proposal, 242 votes; against the proposal, 35 votes; informal, 7 votes.

As the number of votes recorded for the proposal exceeds the number of votes recorded against the proposal, I hereby declare the proposal carried.

BOROUGH OF FEILDING.

Public notice is hereby given that at the poll taken this day upon the proposal of the Council of the Borough of Feilding to raise a special loan of £1,750 for the construction of a ferro-concrete bridge across the Makino Stream in Manchester Street the following votes were recorded: For the proposal, 216 votes; against the proposal, 65 votes; informal, 5 votes.

As the number of votes recorded for the proposal exceeds the number recorded against the proposal, I hereby declare the proposal carried.
