Special Order made by the Council of the County of Pahiatua.
The Treasury,
Wellington, 21st April, 1908.
THE following special order, made by the Pahiatua County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

PAHIATUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order striking Special Rate.—Loan No. 79.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Pahiatua County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £170, authorised to be raised by the Pahiatua County Council, under the above-named Act, for the payment of part cost of the erection of a suspension-bridge at Bourke’s Crossing over the Makakahi River (a Government subsidy of £1 for £1 being available for the work), the said Pahiatua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property in the Bourke’s Bridge Special-rating District, comprising the following sections—Section 1, Block XIV, Mangahao; Sections 2, Block XV, Mangahao, and 1A, Block III, Mangaone; Sections 5 and 30, Block XV, Mangahao; and Lots 16 to 20 of Sections 8 and 9, Block XIV, Mangahao: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, at 3½ per cent. per annum, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Pahiatua County Council on the 7th day of March, 1908, and confirmed at a meeting of the said Council on the 4th day of April, 1908.

Special Order striking Special Rate.—Loan No. 80.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Pahiatua County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £100, authorised to be raised by the Pahiatua County Council, under the above-named Act, for the purpose of metalling about 40 chains of Tripe’s Road, the said Pahiatua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¾d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property in the Tripe’s Road Special-rating District, comprising the following sections—Sections 65, 66, and 67, Block XIV, Mangahao; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, at 3½ per cent. per annum, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Kaiapoi, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

KAIAPOI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the Acts amending the same respectively, and of “The Local Elections Act, 1904.”
WE hereby give public notice of the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal of the Kaiapoi Borough Council, upon which a poll was taken on the 7th day of April, 1908, to raise a special loan of £3,000 for the purpose of installing an acetylene-gas plant: For the proposal, 265; against the proposal, 118; informals, 17.
And we declare the proposal carried.

WE hereby give public notice of the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal of the Kaiapoi Borough Council, upon which a poll was taken on the 7th day of April, 1908, to raise a special loan of £4,000 for the purpose of kerbing, channelling, and asphalting: For the proposal, 287; against the proposal, 147; informals, 15.
And we declare the proposal carried.

LEVIN BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Result of Poll for Loan of £4,000.
In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the Acts amending the same respectively.
I HEREBY give notice that on the 8th day of April, 1908, a proposal was submitted by the Levin Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Levin for raising a special loan of £4,000 for the purpose of constructing waterworks for the said borough, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the said proposal was as follows: For, 192; against, 17; informal, 1.
I therefore declare the said proposal to be carried.
