Arrangements for First Election, &c., County of Waipukurau.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint

JAMES HENRY NELSON

to be the person to make up electors’ rolls for the Ridings of Mount Herbert and Hatuma, in the County of Waipukurau, as constituted by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and the Waipukurau County Act, 1907, also to be Returning Officer to conduct the first election of members of the Council of the said county, and to be the Clerk of the Council of the said county for the purpose of presiding at the first meeting thereof.

Special Order made by the Council of the County of Rangitikei.

THE following special order, made by the Rangitikei County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order making Special Rate.—Loan of £50, Kakariki Street.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Rangitikei County Council doth hereby resolve as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £50, authorised to be raised by the Rangitikei County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of metalling Kakariki Street, Mangaweka North, between the Main Trunk Road and Karearea Street, a distance of about 28 chains to be metalled, the said Rangitikei County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¾d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Kakariki Special-rating District, comprising Sections 2 and 3, Block I; 1 to 11 inclusive, Block II; 1 and 2, Block III; 1 to 5 inclusive, Block V; 1 to 5 inclusive, Block VI; 1 and 2, Block VII; and 1 and 2, Block VIII—all of the Mangaweka North Township; also Sections 60, 61, 62, 67, 69, and 70, Mangaweka North Suburban (formerly part Raumaewae’s Reserve): and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable in one sum on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off, the interest on such loan being at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum.

I, Robert Kirkpatrick Simpson, Chairman of the Rangitikei County Council, do hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Rangitikei County Council held on the 7th day of March, 1908, and was duly confirmed at a special meeting of the said Rangitikei County Council held on the 4th day of April, 1908.

In testimony whereof the common seal of the Rangitikei County Council has been hereunto affixed.

THE following special order, made by the Pahiatua County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

PAHIATUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order striking Special Rate.—Loan No. 78.

That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Pahiatua County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorised to be raised by the Pahiatua County Council, under the above-named Act, for the following works, viz.,—

(1.) Construction of bridge near Balance Factory .. £315
(2.) Construction of bridge near S. Avery’s, Balance Gorge Road .. 150
(3.) Construction of bridge, Balance Valley Road 200
(4.) Construction of bridge, Balance Valley Road 150
(5.) Completion of formation and metalling Balance Valley Road .. 185

the said Pahiatua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all land included in the Balance Special-rating District, comprised within the following boundaries—on the east by the Mangahao River; on the north by the northern boundaries of Sections 12, Block I, and 15, Block II; on the west by the forest reserve from western corner of Section 15, Block II; along the eastern boundary of Palmerston North S.S. Block to the Tararua Road; on the south by the Tararua Road to the south corner of Section 72, Block VI; along the eastern boundaries of Sections 72, 71, and 70, Block VI; along the northern boundaries of Sections 69 and part 68, Block VI; along the eastern boundaries of Sections 67, 66, and part 65, Block VI, and the south boundary of Section 43, Block III; along the Balance Road to Holdaway’s Road; along Holdaway’s Road to the Mangahao River—all in the Mangahao Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, at 4 per cent. per annum, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Pahiatua County Council on the 7th day of March, 1908, and confirmed at a meeting of the said Council on the 4th day of April, 1908.
