UNDER “THE MINING ACT, 1905.”
APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.
To the Warden of the Westland Mining District, at Reefton.
PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1905,” the undersigned, the Worksop Gold-dredging Company (Limited), of Greymouth, Mining Company, hereby applies for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.
Date and number of miner’s right: 2nd March, 1908; No. 66458.
Address for service: Care of Free, Cottrell, and Lawry, Solicitors, Reefton.
Dated at Reefton, this 19th day of March, 1908.
Schedule.
Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Situate in Block IV, Mawheraiti Survey District, commencing in No-gold Gully Creek where the said creek crosses Antonio’s Road; thence westerly along the south side of the said road to G. L. Tacon’s prospecting area, No. 1929; thence across the said prospecting area to Mossy Stream; and thence along the north side of the said road and terminating at the south-eastern corner of applicant’s special claim, No. 2008, and crossing the corner of F. Johnston’s freehold, as per plan lodged herewith.
Time and date of pegging: 16th March, 1908, at 4 p.m.
Pegs marked “W.”
Length and intended course of race: 38 chains; westerly.
Points of intake: (1) No-gold Gully Creek; (2) Mossy Stream, tributaries of Antonio’s Creek.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Four months; £50.
Mean depth and breadth: 2 ft. by 4 ft.
Number of heads to be diverted: Four heads from No-gold Gully Creek; four heads from Mossy Stream.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Supply for dredge-paddock.
Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.
