county boundary in a north-westerly and south-westerly direction to the intersecting-point of the Whakatane and East Taupo Counties; from that point in a straight line to the Hoe River at the north-western corner of the Maungataniwha Block; following down the Hoe River to its junction with the Mohaka River; following down the Mohaka River to the thirty-ninth parallel of latitude at the mouth of the Arakanui Stream, in the Whareraurakau Block; following the thirty-ninth parallel of latitude to the Waihua River; following down the Waihua River to the sea-coast; following the sea-coast to the Wairoa River; following the Wairoa River to the boundary of the Clyde Town District; following the western boundary of the Clyde Town District to the Wairoa River and boundary of the Mahia Riding as already described; and following the north-western boundary of the Mahia Riding to the starting-point.

THE following special order, made by the Picton Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

BOROUGH OF PICTON.

Special Order making a Special Rate.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Picton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £4,000, authorised to be raised by the Picton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of increasing the borough water-supply, the said Picton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅜d. in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable property in the said Borough of Picton; and that such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate on such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The loan is for a period of forty-one years, and the interest is at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum, and the loan is for two successive years’ expenditure.

The above special order was made on the 12th day of February, 1908; published in the Marlborough Press on the 19th and 26th February, 4th and 11th March; and confirmed at a special meeting called for that purpose on the 13th day of March, 1908.

HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Gorge Road Loan, £2,000.—Special Order.—Special Meeting, 8th February, 1908.

THAT, in pursuance of and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the several amendments thereof, the Horowhenua County Council resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest at 4 per cent. and other charges on a loan of £2,000, under clauses 7 to 13 and 16 of the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of widening and constructing a road from the Waiohenga Bridge to The Forks on the Gorge Road, Te Horo Riding, the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¹⁷⁄₁₀₀₀d. in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable properties in the Te Horo Riding of the Horowhenua County; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being for a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off; and that it is proposed to pay the costs of raising such loan and the first year’s interest out of loan. This special order to be confirmed at a subsequent meeting to be held on the 14th day of March, 1908.

I certify the above to be a true copy of the special order made at a special meeting held on the 8th day of February, 1908, relating to the Gorge Road loan of £2,000.

HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Gorge Road Loan of £2,000.—Confirmation of Special Order.—Ordinary Meeting, 14th March, 1908.

That the special order made at a special meeting held on the 8th day of February, 1908, for raising a loan of £2,000, under clauses 7 to 13 and 16 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of widening and constructing a road from the Waiohenga Bridge to The Forks on the Gorge Road, Te Horo Riding, and the levying of a special rate of ¹⁷⁄₁₀₀₀d. in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable properties in the Te Horo Riding of Horowhenua County for forty-one years at 4 per cent., be now confirmed.

I certify the above to be a true copy of the resolution confirming the special order above referred to at an ordinary meeting of the Horowhenua County Council on the 14th day of March, 1908.

ELTHAM COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order making a Special Rate.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Eltham County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorised to be raised by the Eltham County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of forming and metalling the Rawhitiroa Road from end of present metal at Mangamingi eastwards generally for a distance of six miles, more or less, being one continuous public work, the said Eltham County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅝d. in the pound upon the rateable value on the basis of capital value of all the rateable property of that portion of the Eltham County comprising the northern half of the whole of those portions of Tutaeariari Block respectively described on the valuation roll of the Eltham Riding under Assessment Nos. 103, 105, and 183 as part Tutaeariari No. 1, Block XII, Ngaiere Survey District (336 acres 2 roods); part Tutaeariari No. 1, and part 5, Block XII, Ngaiere Survey District (2,509 acres 2 roods); Sub. 8, part 9, Tutaeariari, Block XVI, Ngaiere Survey District (359 acres); part Matemateonga 4, and part 1, 4, 5, 6, Blocks IX, X, XIII, and XIV, Omona Survey District (4,275 acres), and being whole of land assessed on said valuation roll for Omona Riding under Assessment No. 35; parts 1A, 3, and part Sub. 8, part Matemateonga Block, Blocks V and IX, Omona Survey District (1,599 acres 2 roods 23 perches), and being whole of land assessed on said Omona Riding valuation roll under Assessment No. 69; Matemateonga, part Sub. 2, Sections 2 and 3, Sub. 1, Block IX, Omona Survey District (811 acres 2 roods 16 perches), and being whole of lands assessed on said Omona Riding valuation roll under Assessment No. 10; Matemateonga, part Sub. 3, Sections 2 and 3, Block IX, Omona Survey District (801 acres and 26 perches), and being whole of land assessed on said Omona Riding valuation roll under Assessment No. 11; western half Matemateonga 4, part Sub. 2, part Sub. 3, Block X, Omona Survey District (905 acres 2 roods 29 perches),
