Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in Boundaries of Masterton Borough.

PURSUANT to section 176 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him, praying that the said area may be excluded from the Borough of Masterton and included in the Te Whiti Riding of the County of Masterton. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE BOROUGH OF MASTERTON AND TO BE INCLUDED IN THE COUNTY OF MASTERTON.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded towards the north-west by the north-western boundary of Section No. 9, Suburbs of Masterton, from the Kuripuni Stream to Johnstone Road; thence towards the north-east by Johnstone Road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section No. 14, Suburbs of Masterton; thence again towards the north-west by a right line across Johnstone Road and by the north-western boundary of the said Section No. 14 to the Ruamahanga River; thence towards the east by that river to Nursery Road; thence towards the south-east by Nursery Road to the Kuripuni Stream; and thence towards the west generally by the Kuripuni Stream to the place of commencement.

Approval of Fees for licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-law, Rangitikei County Council.

THAT the Waikaremoana and Clyde Ridings be abolished, and the combined area be reconstituted into two new ridings, to be designated the Mahia and Waikaremoana Ridings respectively, the boundaries to be as follows:—
MAHIA RIDING.
Starting at the point on the county boundary where it is intersected by the Mangapoiki River; following down that river to its junction with the Makaretu Stream; following up that stream to the eastern boundary of Section 31A, Block X, Opoiti Survey District; following that boundary in a southerly direction to the source of the Kauhauroa Stream; following down that stream to its junction with the Wairoa River; following down the Wairoa River to the sea-coast in an easterly, southerly, and northerly direction to the county boundary; and following the county boundary to the starting-point: including Portland Island.
