PURSUANT to the provisions of the Fire Brigades Act, 1907, I, John George Findlay, Minister of Internal Affairs, hereby appoint the undermentioned places and dates for the first meetings of the following Fire Boards:—
Dannewirke Fire Board—
The Borough Council Chambers, Dannewirke, at 8.30 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, the 4th March, 1908.
Lawrence Fire Board—
The Borough Council Chambers, Lawrence, at 2 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 3rd March, 1908.
Hokitika Fire Board—
The Borough Council Chambers, Hokitika, at 2 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 10th March, 1908.
Maori Hill Fire Board—
No. 6 Exchange Court, Princes Street, Dunedin, at 2.30 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 3rd March, 1908.
Masterton Fire Board—
The Borough Council Chambers, Masterton, at 2 o’clock p.m. on Thursday, the 5th March, 1908.

Special Order made by the Waipipi Road Board.

THE following special order, made by the Waipipi Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WAIPPI ROAD BOARD.
Special Order.
THE following special order was made at a special meeting of the Waipipi Road Board on Saturday, the 11th day of January, 1908, and was confirmed at a meeting of the Board held on Saturday, the 8th day of February, 1908:—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and “The Road Boards Act Amendment Act, 1905,” the Waipipi Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,400, authorised to be raised by the Waipipi Road Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for metalling (a) the Maioro-Otawa Swamp Road, £1,200; (b) the Maioro-Otawa Old Road, £600; (c) the Otawa-Bothwell Road, £600, the said Waipipi Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¾d. in the pound upon all the rateable property of the Maioro Special-rating District,
comprising the whole of Section 2, Maioro, and Allotments Nos. 41/5, 50/8, 65/8, 71/5, 78, 80, 85/9, 96/100, 106/130, 137/149, 152, 156, 173, 175/8, 181/191, the southern portion of Lot 151, the northern portion of Lot 179, and the western portion of Lot 61, and Crown land, Runs Nos. 1, 3, and 4, all being of the Waiuku West Parish, and of Blocks IV, V, VI, and VII, Maioro; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above special order was made in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and amendments thereto.

Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Masterton.

THE following special order, made by the Masterton Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Masterton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £12,000, authorised to be raised by the Masterton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for new buildings, manufacturing plant, extension of mains and services, meters, stoves and fittings, and contingencies for the Masterton Corporation gasworks, the said Masterton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¾d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Masterton, comprising all that area the boundaries whereof are defined in an Order of the Governor in Council dated the 31st day of August, 1904, and gazetted the 31st day of March, 1904; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st days of January and July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Masterton was affixed hereto in pursuance of a resolution of the said Council passed on the 21st day of January, 1908, in the presence of—
