Cancellation of Appointments of Trustees, Pelichet Bay Rifle-range Reserve.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to cancel, under “The Volunteer Drill-sheds and Lands Act, 1888,” “The Volunteer Drill-sheds and Lands Trustees Validation Act, 1890,” and the Defence Act Amendment Act, 1907, the appointments of Trustees to the Pelichet Bay Rifle-range Reserve, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 104, of 13th December, 1906.

Inspector under Fire Brigades Act.

APPLICATIONS for the appointment of Inspector of Fire Brigades, under section 49 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1907, will be received at this office until noon on the 16th day of March, 1908.

Proposed salary, £500 per annum, with the travelling-allowances and travelling-expenses fixed by the Public Service regulations.

Applications should be made in writing, and should be accompanied by a statement of previous experience and copies of testimonials.

Notice respecting Proposed Borough of Dargaville, County of Hobson.

Office of the Minister of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 18th February, 1908.

PURSUANT to section 175 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition has been presented to him praying for the constitution of the area described in the Schedule hereto as a borough under the said Act, to be named the Borough of Dargaville. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the constitution of the said borough which they may desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice; such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF PROPOSED BOROUGH OF DARGAVILLE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Blocks XII and XV, Kaihu Survey District, and Blocks IX and XIII, Maungaru Survey District, Hobson County. Commencing at the junction of the Awakino River with the Northern Wairoa River: bounded towards the south-east by the Northern Wairoa River to its junction with the Kaihu River; thence towards the east by the Northern Wairoa River aforesaid to the southern boundary of Aoroa No. 1 Block; towards the south by the southern boundary of Aoroa No. 1 Block aforesaid to the Dargaville-Aratapu Road; thence by a line across the said road and by the Mount Wesley Road to the western boundary of Aoroa No. 1 Block aforesaid; thence by the western boundary of the last-mentioned block, 294 links; thence by the southern and western boundaries of Sections 1A and 1 of the Aoroa Block, and the southern boundaries of Sections 19 to 26 of the said block, and by the southern and western boundaries of Section 27 of the aforesaid block, to a road 100 links wide; thence across the said road, following the western boundary of Section 28 and the southern boundaries of Sections 32, 33, and 34 of the said Aoroa Block to a road; thence following that road to a road reserve at the southernmost corner of Section 26 of the said block; thence by the southern boundaries of Sections 23 and 20 of the same block to a road, and crossing the said road; thence by the south-west boundaries of Sections 10 and 12 of the same block; towards the north-west by the north-west boundary-lines of the last-mentioned section to the Mangao Stream; thence along the said stream to its junction with the Kaihu River; thence by the said Kaihu River to the north-west boundary of the southern part of Kaihu No. 2B3; thence by the said north-west boundary to the Dargaville-Tangiteroria Road; towards
