Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the tenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eight, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Town Land.
TOWNSHIP of Ohiwa.—Block II, Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, each 1 rood; upset price per section, £10. Block IV, Sections 7, 8, 9, and 10, each 1 rood; upset price per section, £10. Flat land, sandy soil. Situated on Ohiwa Harbour, near wharf; distant 217 miles by water from Auckland.
Suburban Land.
Town of Pirongia East (Museum Endowments).—Sections 101, 101A, 102, 102A (grouped), 2 acres; upset price, £7. Sections 191, 191A, 193, 193A (grouped), 2 acres; upset price, £16. Sections 323, 324, 324A (grouped), 2 acres; upset price, £5. Sections 101 to 102A, level land, covered with gorse. Sections 191 to 193A, conveniently situated, partly cleared and in grass; blackberries bad in places; pine-trees planted on boundary, &c. Sections 323 to 324A are remote from township, and are covered with fern and gorse.
Town of Pirongia West (Museum Endowment).—Sections 273, 274, 275, 276, 277, 278, 279, 280, 281, and 282 (grouped), 9 acres 2 roods 17 perches; upset price, £20. Section 72, 1 acre 1 rood 19 perches; upset price, £5. Sections 273 to 282, mostly undulating and fern land, rather inferior in quality, with patches of gorse and some swampy land. Situated one mile from post-office. Section 72, level and mostly in grass, with some gorse. Situated half-mile from post-office.

Lands reserved for Wood-pulp Industry in the Westland Land District.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power conferred by section seventy-two of “The Land Laws Amendment Act, 1907,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the lands described in the Schedule hereunder as a reserve for purposes of the wood-pulp industry.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing 30,000 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks XI, XII, XIV, XV, and XVI, Te Kinga Survey District, and in Blocks I, II, III, IV, VI, and VII, Otira Survey District, and being Reserve No. 1094. Bounded towards the north from the north-east corner of Subdivision 1 of Section No. 868 by the dividing-line between the Survey Districts of Kopara and Te Kinga to Run No. 71: towards the east generally by Run No. 71 and Run No. 5 to the Taramakau River: towards the south by the Taramakau River to Section No. 2208, excluding Sections Nos. 2220, 797, and 2218; thence by Section No. 2208 to south-east corner of part of Subdivision 1 of Section No. 868: towards the north-west generally by part of Subdivision 1 of said Section No. 868 to Slaty Creek, and thence by Slaty Creek for 50 chains; thence by a line bearing 40° to boundary between Blocks XI and XV: thence along that line for 110 chains; thence by a north line for 60 chains; thence by a west line to Evans River; thence by Evans River to Crooked River; thence by Crooked River to corner of part Subdivision 1 of Section No. 868 aforesaid, and by that section to the point of commencement: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 45232/77A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.
All that area in the Westland Land District, containing 20,000 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks VII, VIII, XI, XII, XV, and XVI, Otira Survey District, and in Blocks III and IV, Arthur’s Pass Survey District, being Reserve No. 1095. Bounded generally towards the north by Taramakau River from Section No. 800 to the Otahake River, and thence by the Otahake River to Worsley’s Pass; towards the east by the main range dividing the Land Districts of Westland and Canterbury from Worsley’s Pass to Goat Pass; towards the south and west generally by Deception River to Otira River, thence by the said Otira River to Section No. 800 aforesaid, and by that section to the Taramakau River: excluding Section No. 2210 and 200 acres contiguous to the last-mentioned section: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 45232/77B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

Reserving Land for the Purposes of the Paparoa Coal-mining Company (Limited) under “The Coal-mines Act, 1905.”
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Coal-mines Act, 1905,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby reserve the Crown lands described in the Schedule hereto to be used by the Paparoa Coal-mining Company (Limited) for any railways, tramways, bridges, inclines, and staiths, or other means of transit, to connect the parts of the coal-mining lease held by the said company with the railway and loading-station at Stony Creek, constructed between Greymouth and Blackball by the Minister for Public Works: Provided that the reservation hereby made shall be subject to the condition that there shall be a public right of access through the reserve, and that the Governor may, if he thinks fit, authorise the construction thereon of any road which may be required for public convenience.
And in further exercise of the powers and authorities aforesaid I do hereby notify and declare that this reservation shall take effect during the currency of the coal-mining lease dated the fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and three, for the period of sixty-six years from that date, which lease is at present held by the aforesaid company.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of land, containing 47 acres 1 rood 25 perches, more or less, being Reserve No. 1070, Block II, Mawheranui Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Crown lands, 7326 links; towards the east by Blackball Freehold Section 1, 3604 links; towards the south and west generally by Crown lands, 6805 links, and Coal Lease No. 278, 1665 links: be the aforesaid linkages a little more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked Mines 1907/121, deposited in the office of the Mines Department, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
