OMAKA ROAD BOARD.
Special Order making Special Rate.
NOTICE is hereby given that at the ordinary meeting of the Board to be held at the Board's office, Blenheim, on the 9th day of December, 1907, at 10 a.m., the following resolution will be proposed, namely:—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901,” the Omaka Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorised to be raised by the Omaka Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following undertakings—
Sum to be borrowed for each Undertaking.
Undertakings.
(1.) The amount of the Board's share in connection with the construction of the bridge known as the “Nelson Street Bridge”
(2.) The construction of a new bridge in place of the bridge known as “Batty's Bridge”
(3.) The construction of a new bridge in place of the bridge known as “Conolly's Bridge”
(4.) The construction of a new bridge in place of the bridge known as “Pattie's Bridge”
(5.) The construction of a new bridge in place of the bridge known as “Coleman's Bridge”
(6.) The construction of a new bridge in place of the second bridge also known as “Coleman's Bridge”
(7.) The construction of a bridge over the Omaka River on the Middle Renwick Road to be known as the “Omaka Bridge”
(8.) Redwood Pass culverts
the said Omaka Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3¼d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Omaka Road Board District, comprising all that area in the Provincial District of Marlborough bounded towards the north, north-east, and north-west by the Spring Creek Road District, from the confluence of the Wairau and the Opawa Rivers to the easternmost corner of Section No. 32, Cloudy Bay Survey District; thence by a right line across the said Wairau River in continuation of the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 32 aforesaid; thence again towards the north-east by the north bank of the last-mentioned river to its mouth; thence again by the ocean to the mouth of the Awatere River; thence towards the south-east and south-west by the Awatere Road District to the confluence of a tributary of the Taylor River with the Taylor River at the base of the hill called “the Maori”; thence again towards the south-west and towards the west by the eastern side of the Taylor Pass Road to its junction with the road between Sections Nos. 28 and 48, Taylor Pass Survey District; thence again towards the north by Section No. part 4 of 28; thence again towards the west by a road fronting the last-mentioned section, and Sections Nos. part 1 of 28 and part 3 of 28, aforesaid survey district; thence across a road and by Sections Nos. part 1 of 8 and part 2 of 8 to the north-eastern corner of the latter section; thence towards the south and west generally by the Wairau Road District to the confluence of the Wairau and the Opawa Rivers, the place of
commencement: excepting from the above-described area the Borough of Blenheim: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

BOROUGH OF FEILDING.
Copy of Special Order making Special Rate.
THAT the Council of the Borough of Feilding pass the following resolution (to operate as a special order) and which is in the words and figures following, that is to say:—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901,” the Council of the Borough of Feilding hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £800, authorised to be raised by the Council of the Borough of Feilding, under the above-mentioned Act, for the completion of the Borough of Feilding Abattoir, the said Council of the Borough of Feilding hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Feilding, comprising the area within the following boundaries, namely: All that area in the Land District of Wellington bounded towards the north generally by Section No. 184, Block XIV, Oroua Survey District, from its south-western corner to the railway reserve; thence by the production of the southern boundary-line of the said Section No. 184 to the eastern side of the Makino Road; thence by the said Makino Road to the south-western corner of Section No. 162; thence by Sections Nos. 162, 173, 174, 175, 176, and 177 to Reid's Road Line; thence by the production of the eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned section to the north-eastern side of the said Reid's Road Line; thence by the north-eastern side of that road-line to the south-eastern side of Kimbolton Road; thence towards the east generally by the south-eastern side of the said Kimbolton Road to the Kiwitea Stream; thence by the left bank of the said Kiwitea Stream to the confluence of the said Kiwitea Stream with the Oroua River; thence by the said Oroua River to the railway reserve; thence towards the south generally by the said railway reserve to South Street; thence by the south side of South Street to Awahuri Road; thence by the east side of Awahuri Road to a point in line with the southern boundary-line of Section No. 85, Block XIV aforesaid; thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of that section; thence by the southern boundary-line of the said Section No. 85 for a distance of 796 links; thence towards the west generally by a right line bearing 354° 11' (magnetic) to the road forming the northern boundary of Section No. 132; thence by that road to the north-eastern corner of the said Section No. 132; thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 130, Block XIV aforesaid; and thence by the said Section No. 130 to the south-western corner of Section No. 184 aforesaid, the place of commencement: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of October and the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above special order was duly passed and adopted at a special meeting of the Council held on the 21st day of November, 1907, and confirmed at a meeting of the Council held on the 21st day of December, 1907.
