Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Te Aroha.

THE following special order, made by the Te Aroha Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

TE AROHA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order.
NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Council of the Borough of Te Aroha, duly convened, and held at the Council Office, Whitaker Street, Te Aroha, on the 19th day of November, 1907, the following resolution (intended to operate as a special order) was duly passed, and at a subsequent ordinary meeting held on the 18th day of December, 1907, the said resolution was duly confirmed :—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, the Te Aroha Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorised to be raised by the Te Aroha Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of extending and enlarging the electric-light works of the Borough of Te Aroha, the said Te Aroha Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 5d. per pound on the rateable value (on the basis of annual value) of all the rateable property of the Borough of Te Aroha, comprising all that area in the Provincial District of Auckland, situate in the Aroha Survey District, bounded towards the north by a line running due east from a point due north of the southernmost corner of Te Ruakaka Block and due west of Te Aroha’s Trig. Station to the boundary-line between Ema Lipsey and others block of land and that of Rina Mohena and others; thence towards the north-east by the latter block of land to the easternmost corner of the former; thence towards the south-east by a straight line to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 16, Block IX, Aroha Survey District (hot springs reserve), and 2300 links distant in a north-easterly direction from the north-western corner of that section; thence again towards the north-east by a line bearing E. 51° 15′ S., 2271 links; thence by a straight line to the source of the Heanga Stream; thence again towards the south-east by a line along the middle of that stream to the Waihou River; thence towards the south-west by a line along the middle of that river to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary-line of Te Ruakaka Block aforesaid; thence towards the north-west by a straight line to that block; and thence towards the west by a straight line due north to the place of commencement: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years from the 1st day of January, 1908, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THE following special order, made by the Lyttelton Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

LYTTELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Lyttelton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £20,000 (for two successive years’ expenditure), authorised to be raised by the Lyttelton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for expenditure in providing and constructing an underground sewerage or drainage system for the use and benefit of the residents of the Borough of Lyttelton, the said Lyttelton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 7d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Lyttelton, comprising 2,014 acres, more or less, being the land comprised within the boundaries of the said borough, and bounded on the north by the ridge of hills lying on the north side of Lyttelton, on the east by the spur of the hill running down to the sea immediately on the east side of Gollan’s Bay, on the south by the sea, and on the west by the eastern boundary of the Native reserve at Rapaki; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 30th day of January and the 30th day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above special order was passed at a special meeting of the Lyttelton Borough Council held on the 18th day of November, 1907, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 18th day of December, 1907.
The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Lyttelton was hereto affixed to the above-written special order by direction of the Council and in the presence of—

Special Order made by the Council of the County of Horowhenua.

THE following special order, made by the Horowhenua County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order for Loan of £400.—Makomako Road Special-rating District.—Special Meeting held on the 8th day of November, 1907.
THAT, in pursuance of and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the several amendments thereof, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest at 4 per cent. and other charges on a loan of £400, authorised to be raised by the Horowhenua County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” clause 14, paragraph (4), for the purpose of acquiring land, construction of continuation of the Makomako Road, and fencing and metalling same in the Makomako Special-rating District, the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¾d. in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable properties in the Makomako Special-rating District, or as more particularly set forth in the ratepayers’ consent and the plan on which the area and sections or part sections are delineated and coloured green; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. This special order to be confirmed at a subsequent meeting to be held on the 14th day of December, 1907.
I certify the above to be a copy of the special order relating to the loan of £400 for Makomako Road Special-rating District made on the 8th day of November, 1907.

HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Confirmation of Special Order for Makomako Road Special-rating District Loan of £400.—Ordinary Meeting held on the 14th day of December, 1907.
That the special order made at a special meeting held on the 8th day of November, 1907, for raising a loan of £400, under clause 14, paragraph (4), of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of acquiring land, constructing continuation of Makomako Road, and fencing and metalling same, and the levying of a special rate of ¾d. in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable properties in the Makomako Special-rating District for forty-one years at 4 per cent., be now confirmed.
I certify the above to be a copy of the resolution passed at an ordinary meeting of the Council on the 14th day of December, 1907, being the confirmation of Makomako Road special order.
