Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, Masterton Trust Lands Trust.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Masterton Trust Lands Trust, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Masterton Trust Lands Trust Empowering Act, 1905.”

MASTERTON TRUST LANDS TRUST.
Notice under Section 12 of “The Masterton Trust Lands Trust Empowering Act, 1905.”

I HEREBY publicly notify that at a poll taken at Masterton on the 5th day of December, 1907, on the proposal of the Masterton Trust lands voters to borrow the sum of £10,000 (at the rate of not more than £3,000 in any one year) for the purpose of erecting buildings on trust lands, consisting of shops and offices estimated to cost £10,000, the following votes were recorded: For the proposal, 154; against the proposal, 47; informal, 2.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal exceeding three-fifths of the total valid votes recorded at the poll, I therefore declare the proposal duly carried.

I, Thomas Banfield Michell, Chairman of the Masterton Trust Lands Trust, do solemnly and sincerely declare that all proceedings required by “The Masterton Trust Lands Trust Empowering Act, 1905,” “The Local Elections Act, 1904,” and the amendments thereto respectively, to be taken in or towards obtaining the sanction of the voters of the Masterton Trust Lands District to the proposal set out in the foregoing notice to the Minister of Internal Affairs have been duly taken, and that a resolution of the voters in favour of such proposal has been duly carried.

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of an Act of the Parliament of New Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

LEVIN BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the Acts amending the same respectively.

I HEREBY give notice that on the 18th day of December, 1907, a proposal was submitted by the Levin Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Levin for raising a special loan of £10,000 for the purpose of erecting and installing municipal coal-gas works, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 152; against, 109; informal, 14.

And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

I HEREBY give notice that on the 18th day of December, 1907, a proposal was submitted by the Levin Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Levin for raising a special loan of £3,000 for the purpose of making streets, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 205; against, 61; informal, 9.

And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Kirikiri roa Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD.
Result of Poll for Loan of £6,000.

In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments.

I HEREBY give notice that on the 18th day of December, 1907, a proposal was submitted by the Kirikiri roa Road Board to the ratepayers of the Kirikiri roa Road District for raising a special loan of £6,000 (for two successive years’ expenditure) for the purpose of roads-construction, as under:—

Hukanui–Claudelands Main Road in the vicinity of Kirikiri roa Station (three miles, more or less)—metalling, £1,200. Taupiri Town, Great South and North Roads, approaches and roads to new Komakorau Bridge and Woodlands Road (three miles, more or less)—metalling, £1,200. Barugh’s Corner, via Sections 66, 70, 72, 50, and 35, to Kenny’s Corner; also fronting Sections 74 and 77, Kirikiri roa—formation, cuttings, and gravel, £240. State Farm, Ruakura Station Road—formation and gravelling, £200. Taupiri–Hukanui Main Road, via Komakorau School and Gordonton, to Clarkin’s—formation and gravelling, £1,100. Tramway Road, Hillside—formation and gravel, £300. Ngaruawahia–River Road Extension, from corner Section 159 to Section 173, Kirikiri roa Parish—formation and cuttings, £300. Longland’s Corner to ten-foot drain—formation and gravel, £350. Taupiri–Morrinsville Road, via Mawhinney’s and creamery—cuttings, grading, and gravelling, where procurable, £1,100.

Number of votes recorded: For the proposal, 173 votes; against the proposal, 61 votes.

I hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the City of Dunedin, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

In the matter of “The Borough of South Dunedin Empowering Act, 1904,” and all other statutory and other powers in that behalf.

I, THE undersigned, John Loudon, Mayor of the City of Dunedin, hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the said city was duly taken on the 18th day of December, 1907, upon the proposal, in pursuance of the above Act, to widen the street known as King Edward Street (formerly Hillside Road), in the South Dunedin Ward of the City of Dunedin, on the eastern side thereof, to such extent as to increase the width thereof to at least 1 chain, and also to take, purchase, or otherwise acquire on behalf of the Corporation of Dunedin the land necessary for widening the said street as aforesaid, and also such other land on the eastern side of such street as the City Council of Dunedin shall by resolution determine in terms of the said Act.

The result of the said poll was as follows: For the proposal, 1,221 votes; against the proposal, 106 votes; majority for the proposal, 1,115; informal votes, 5.

I accordingly declare the said proposal to be carried.
