Special Orders made by the Council of the County of Manawatu.

THE following special orders, made by the Manawatu
County Council, are published in accordance with the
provisions of “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

SPECIAL ORDERS.

  1. THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
    it in that behalf by “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,”
    and by virtue of a Warrant issued under the hand of His
    Excellency the Governor, in terms of section 118 of “ The
    Public Works Act, 1905,” dated the 14th day of December,
    1906, the Manawatu County Council hereby resolves as fol-
    lows: That, for the purpose of providing the Manawatu
    County Council’s share of the cost of constructing a bridge
    (including approaches and protective works) over the Mana-
    watu River near Shannon, known as the Shannon Bridge,
    the site of the said bridge, approaches, and protective works
    being more particularly delineated on the plan marked
    R. 2749, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of
    Roads, Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and
    thereon shown in red colour, the said Manawatu County
    Council hereby authorises the raising of a loan of £2,000, at
    4 per centum per annum, for forty-one years.

  2. In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
    that behalf by “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and by
    virtue of a Warrant issued under the hand of His Excellency
    the Governor, in terms of section 118 of “ The Public Works
    Act, 1905,” dated the 14th day of December, 1906, the Mana-
    watu County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for
    the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on
    a loan of £2,000 sterling, authorised to be raised by the
    Manawatu County Council, under the above-mentioned
    Acts, for the purpose of providing the Manawatu County
    Council’s share of the cost of constructing a bridge (including
    approaches and protective works) over the Manawatu River
    near Shannon, known as the Shannon Bridge, the site of the
    said bridge, approaches, and protective works being more
    particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 2749, deposited
    in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, Wellington, in
    the Wellington Land District, and thereon shown in red
    colour, such loan to be at 4 per centum per annum for a
    period of forty-one years, the said Manawatu County Council
    hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅞d. in the pound
    upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the
    boundaries of the Manawatu County; and that such special
    rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
    such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in
    each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
    a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

  3. That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
    it in that behalf by “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,”
    the Manawatu County Council hereby resolves as follows:
    That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
    charges on a loan of £100 sterling, authorised to be raised
    by the Manawatu County Council, under the provisions of
    the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of protecting
    McDonell’s Road from the encroachment of the Rangitikei
    River, such loan to be at 4 per centum per annum for a
    period of forty-one years, the said Manawatu County Council
    hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¼d. in the pound
    upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the
    Ohakea Special-rating District No. 2, comprising the follow-
    ing—Sections 49, 50, 59, of the Ohakea Settlement, Block XV,
    Rangitoto Survey District; and that such special rate shall
    be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
    and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and
    every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
    of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing special orders were
adopted by the Manawatu County Council at a special meet-
ing held on the 14th day of August, 1907, and were duly con-
firmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council held on the
11th day of September, 1907.

THE following special order, made by the Heathcote
Road Board, is published in accordance with the
provisions of “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

HEATHCOTE ROAD BOARD.

Special Order.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by
“ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Heathcote Road
Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of
providing the interest and other charges on a loan of
£2,000, authorised to be raised by the Heathcote Road Board,
under the provisions of “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1901,” for the construction and execution of the works in
that part of the St. Martin’s Ward known as the Cashmere
Hills, the boundaries of which are as follows—commencing
at the junction of Colombo Road, Hills Road, and Dyer’s
Pass Road; thence in a southerly direction along the Dyer’s
Pass Road to the north-western boundary of Reserve 161;
then easterly to the north-eastern boundary of Reserve 161;
then northerly by the eastern boundary of Rural Sec-
tions 2147, 4349, 2045; then westerly along the northern
boundary of Rural Section 2045 to the south-western corner
of Rural Section 1935; then northerly along the eastern
boundary of Rural Section 34653, and westerly along the
northern boundary of Rural Sections 34653, 2047, 1713, to
the south-eastern boundary of Rural Section 813; then
northerly along the eastern boundary of Rural Section 113
to the Hills Road; then westerly along the Hills Road to
the place of commencement in the Heathcote Road District
mentioned hereunder, at the approximate cost set opposite
such works respectively—

THE WORKS ABOVE MENTIONED AND THE APPROXIMATE COST.

Septic tank, filters, fittings, connections, £
and drains, &c., required for a septic-tank

the said Heathcote Road Board hereby makes and levies a
special rate of 1¹⁄₈d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable
valuation of all rateable properties in the area comprised
within the aforesaid boundaries, known as the Cashmere
Hills, being part of the St. Martin’s Ward, in the Heathcote
Road District; and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of May and the
1st day of November in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or
until the said loan is fully paid off.

I, George Scott, Chairman of the Heathcote Road Board,
do hereby certify that the above special order was proposed
on the 19th day of August, 1907, and passed on the 4th day
of October, 1907, in accordance with the provisions of “ The
Road Boards Act, 1882,” and its amendments.
