THE following special order, made by the Pukekohe East Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

PUKEKOHE EAST ROAD BOARD.
Special Order making Special Rate on 10th August, 1907.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Pukekohe East Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorised to be raised by the Pukekohe East Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for formation and metalling of roads, the said Pukekohe East Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Pukekohe East Road District, comprising all that area in the Auckland Land District bounded on the north-west generally by the Karaka Road District from the southern boundary of the Parish of Karaka to the middle of the Great South Road, and thence towards the east generally by a line along the middle of the Great South Road to a point in line with the northern boundary-line of Section No. 1, Parish of Maungatawhiri, thence by a right line to the northernmost corner of that section, thence by the said Maungatawhiri Parish and its western boundary produced to the middle of the Waikato River, thence towards the south generally by a line along the middle of that river to the south-eastern corner of the Pukekohe West Road District, and thence towards the west generally by the Buckland Subdivision of the Pukekohe West Road District and Pukeke Town Board District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 14th day of September and the 14th day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above special order and notice of intention to raise loan was confirmed on the 14th day of September, 1907.

THE following special order, made by the Hokitika Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

HOKITIKA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” with the amendments thereto, the Hokitika Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,000, authorised to be raised by the said Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of improving the drainage system of the Borough of Hokitika, the said Hokitika Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1⅓d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Hokitika, comprising all that area of land described in Proclamation dated the 27th November, 1878,
published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 28th November, 1878, Vol. ii, page 1669, as follows: “All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Westland, containing by admeasurement two thousand one hundred and eighty-two acres (2,182), more or less. Bounded towards the north-east by section numbered 8237, the road-line, sections numbered 8453 and 65 (in red), and a road-line; towards the south-east by a road-line, section numbered 452 (in red), a road-line, sections numbered 8296 and 8235, part of Section 1718, Section 8328, and Crown land; towards the south-west by Crown land, sections numbered 2044, 2045, and 1038, a road-line, and section numbered 2026; towards the north-west by low-water mark of ocean: as the same is delineated on the plans deposited in the Provincial District Survey Office, Hokitika”: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above special order was made at a special meeting of the Hokitika Borough Council held on the 12th day of September, 1907, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the said Council held on the 11th day of October, 1907.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Pukekohe East Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

PUKEKOHE EAST ROAD BOARD.
It is hereby notified that a poll of the ratepayers of the Pukekohe East Road District was taken on the 5th October, 1907, in accordance with “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and “The Local Government Reform Act, 1899,” and the following votes were recorded on the proposal to borrow the sum of £3,000 for formation and metalling roads:—
Votes in favour of proposal, 58; votes against the proposal, 37.
As the number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal consists of more than three-fifths of the total valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the loan proposal to be carried.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll.
I HEREBY give notice that the number of votes recorded upon the taking of the poll on the 16th instant for and against the proposal of the Council of the City of Wellington to borrow (by way of special loan within the meaning of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments) the sum of £100,000 for providing a system of drainage for the Melrose District (exclusive of the portion thereof described in the First Schedule to “The Wellington (City) Suburbs Sanitation Act, 1893”), and for constructing private drains and house-connections in such district on the deferred-payment system, was as follows: For the proposal, 175; against the proposal, 14.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.
