taining by admeasurement 6 acres 2 roods 26 perches, more
or less, being Section No. 1, Block XVII, Town of Hirst-
field. Bounded towards the north-east by Denbigh Street,
155 links; towards the east generally by Grand View
Terrace, 2050·8, 1004·9, and 680·9 links; towards the south
by Falls Creek Sludge-channel, 170 links; and towards the
west by the edge of the cliffs of Tewaewae Bay, 3730 links.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same
are delineated on the plan marked S.G. 57060/1, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington,
and thereon bordered red.

Authorising the Exchange of a Portion of a Reserve in the Canterbury Land District for other Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirtieth
day of September, 1907.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the first column of
the Schedule hereto forms part of a reserve hereto-
fore duly set apart for a recreation-ground: And whereas,
in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange
the said land for that described in the second column of the
Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the third section of “The Public Reserves Act Amend-
ment Act, 1889,” doth hereby declare that the said reserve
described in the first column of the Schedule hereto may
be exchanged for the land described in the second column
of the Schedule hereto.

Gratuity on Ship Mail.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this second
day of October, 1907.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the second day
of November, one thousand nine hundred and six,
made under “The Post Office Act, 1900” (hereinafter termed
“the said Act”), and published in the New Zealand Gazette
of the eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred
and six, a scale of gratuities to be paid to the masters o
vessels for the conveyance of mails was fixed: And whereas
it is expedient to abolish such scale and to fix another scale
in lieu thereof:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of New Zealand, doth hereby abolish the scale of gratuities
fixed by the aforesaid Order in Council, and in lieu thereof
doth hereby declare that the gratuities to be paid for the
purposes aforesaid shall be according to the scale set forth
in the Schedule hereto, and shall, when divisible, be divided
in manner prescribed by Order in Council dated the fifteenth
day of March, one thousand nine hundred and four, and
gazetted on the twenty-fourth of the same month; and doth
hereby further declare that this present Order in Council
shall have effect on and after publication thereof in the New
Zealand Gazette.

Huntly John Harry Eliott, of Hutt, Esquire; Henry
Andrew Gordon, Esquire, of Auckland, Mining Engi-
neer; and Alexander Forbes, Esquire, of Kaitangata,
Secretary to the Otago Coal-miners’ Union of Workers:
Greeting.
WHEREAS by a Commission bearing date the twenty-
third day of August last you, the said

were appointed to be a Commission for the purposes and with
the powers in the said Commission more particularly men-

day of October then next ensuing, your proceedings and your
opinion touching the matters mentioned therein: And
whereas it is expedient that the said period should be
extended as hereinafter provided:
