Copy of Resolution passed at a Special Meeting of the Kawhia County Council held on Monday, the 21st January, 1907.
Proposed by Councillor A. W. Babbage, seconded by Councillor W. W. McCardle, That this Council hereby adopt the special orders making rates to pay interest and other charges on loans to be raised for the Kawhia-Mahoenui, Awaroa-Mahoe, Okupata, Pirongia West, and Waitetuna-Aotea Roads, and the Kawhia, Te Puru, and Karewa Townships, and Kawhia Riding.
Confirmed at a special meeting held in the Council Office on Wednesday, the 20th day of February, 1907.

THE following special order, made by the Parihaka Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

PARIHAKA ROAD BOARD.
Special Order.—Opourapa Road Loan 10 per Cent. Loan of £140.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and section 68 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and amendments respectively, the Parihaka Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £140, being 10 per cent. additional on a previous loan of £1,400, authorised to be raised by the Parihaka Road Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of forming, draining, culverting, metalling, and bridging the Opourapa Road from the Main South Road to a point 2 chains east of the boundary-peg between Sections 5 and 6, Block XIII, Cape Survey District, the said Parihaka Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅚d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Opourapa Road Loan District, being all that continuous area within the Parihaka Road District comprising all subdivisions of Section 106, part of Section 119, Block I, Opunake Survey District; part Sections 16 and 17, Section 18, Subdivisions 1 and 2 of 19, Section 20, Block II, Opunake Survey District; Sections 99, 100, and 101, Block XII, Cape Survey District; Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, Block XIII, Cape Survey District, as security for the payment of interest and other charges on such loan; such rate to be an annually recurring rate, payable on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off, and it is hereby provided for the payment out of the loan-moneys of the cost of raising the loan and the first year’s interest on such loan. Interest on such loan shall be at the rate of 4 per centum per annum.
The above special order was passed at a special meeting of the Parihaka Road Board held at Rahotu at 10.45 a.m on Wednesday, the 14th day of August, 1907, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting on Wednesday, the 11th day of September, 1907.
The seal of the Board was hereto affixed in our presence, this 12th day of September, 1907.

MANGANUI ROAD DISTRICT.
Result of Poll.—Pembroke Road No. 3 Special-rating Area.
PROPOSAL to borrow the sum of £1,220, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of forming, grading, and metalling the Pembroke Road from the Cardiff Road to the Barclay Road, and for the construction of a bridge over the Gentle Annie Stream on the said Pembroke Road.
For the proposal, 14 votes; against the proposal, 4 votes.
As more than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes cast at the poll were in favour of the proposal, I hereby declare the said proposal to be duly carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Titirangi Survey District for the Purposes of a Lighthouse and for a Road in connection therewith.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” to take for the use and convenience of a lighthouse at Manukau Heads and for a road in connection therewith the land described in the Schedule hereto. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the said land so required to be taken is deposited in the Post-office at Onehunga, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking thereof, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister for Public Works, Wellington.
