Additional Land in Block III, Waikohu Survey District, taken for the Purposes of the Gisborne-Rotorua Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Gisborne-Rotorua Railway to take further land in Block III, Waikohu Survey District, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seven.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1905,” for a certain public work, to wit, the construction of road-approaches to a railway:
And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinafter specified have been observed and performed:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the construction of road-approaches to the Gisborne-Rotorua Railway.

Altering Sheriffs’ Districts of Canterbury, Marlborough, and Nelson.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by “The Sheriffs Act, 1883,” and of every other power and authority in that behalf enabling me, I, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the first day of December next, the boundaries of the Sheriffs’ Districts of Canterbury, Marlborough, and Nelson shall be altered, and that thenceforth the boundaries thereof shall be the boundaries described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
THE SHERIFF’S DISTRICT OF CANTERBURY.
This district is bounded towards the north-east by the Sheriffs’ Districts of Nelson and Marlborough hereinafter described, from Mount Franklin to the mouth of the Conway River; thence towards the south-east generally by the sea to the mouth of the Ashburton River; thence towards the south-west by the southern bank of the Ashburton River to the source of its main branch; thence by a line bearing 315° to the summit of the Southern Alps; thence towards the north-west by the summit of the Southern Alps to Harper’s Pass; thence by a right line to Mount Princess; and thence by a right line to Mount Franklin, the place of commencement.
THE SHERIFF’S DISTRICT OF MARLBOROUGH.
This district is bounded towards the north and east generally by the sea from Elaine Bay, in Tennyson Inlet, to the mouth of the Conway River; thence towards the south-west generally by the Conway River to its source; thence by a right line to the source of the Palmer River; thence by the Palmer River to its confluence with the Clarence River; thence by the Clarence River to its confluence with the Acheron River; thence by the Acheron River to its confluence with the Guide River; thence by the Guide River to its source at Barefell Pass; and thence by a right line to Top House; thence towards the north-west by a right line to Ward’s Pass; thence by the summit of the range over Mount Rintoul to the Red Hills at the source of the Pelorus River; thence by the said Pelorus River to its confluence with the Heringa River; thence by the said Heringa
