THE SHERIFF’S DISTRICT OF NELSON.

This district is bounded towards the north generally by the sea from Cape Farewell to Elaine Bay, in Tennyson Inlet; thence towards the south-east generally by the Sheriff’s District of Marlborough hereinbefore described to the confluence of the Acheron and Clarence Rivers; thence towards the south and south-west generally by the Clarence River to its source; thence by a right line to Mount Franklyn; thence by a right line to the confluence of the River Gowan with the River Buller; thence towards the west by a right line to the summit of Mount Arthur; thence again towards the south by a right line to the mouth of the Karamea River; and thence again towards the west generally by the sea to Cape Farewell, the place of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seven.

Land set apart for Tongariro National Park.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Tongariro National Park Act, 1894,” and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby proclaim and declare that the whole of the lands within the territory described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date hereof, become and be vested in His Majesty as a national park under the said Act, to be known as the “Tongariro National Park.”


SCHEDULE.

ALL that territory in the Counties of East Taupo, West Taupo, and Waimarino, containing by admeasurement 62,300 acres, more or less, comprehended within a circle around Trig. H, on Ruapehu, having a radius of four miles from that point, together with the area comprehended within a circle having a radius of three miles from Trig. D, on Ngauruhoe, together with so much of the area comprehended within a circle having a radius of three miles from a point on the line connecting Trigs. D and O (on Ngauruhoe and Te Mari), distant two miles and a half from D, as is not included in the circle around D; also that area two miles wide between the circles around H and D which is bisected by a line connecting those points: excepting out of the hereinbefore-described area the Ketetahi Reserve, containing by estimation 20 acres, more or less, as comprised in an order of the Native Land Court made at Tapuaeharuru, Taupo, on the 24th day of September, 1887.

Lands withdrawn from the Horopito Improved-farm Special Settlement, Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by the one-hundred-and-sixty-second section of “The Land Act, 1892,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke a Proclamation dated the second day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 72, dated the fourth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, setting apart lands for Horopito Improved-farm Special Settlement, in so far as it relates to the lands described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that parcel of land in the Land District of Wellington, containing by admeasurement 1,600 acres, more or less, situated in Block XVI, Manganui Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point at the north-eastern corner of Section No. 31, and proceeding in a north-easterly direction on a bearing of 50°, a distance of 6537·4 links, and thence on a bearing of 61° 33′, a distance of 11077 links; thence towards the south on a bearing of 331° 33′, a distance of 10869·9 links; thence towards the south-west on a bearing of 231° 16′, a distance of 5224·5 links; thence towards the north-west on a bearing of 151° 33′, a distance of 8543·4 links; thence towards the south-west on a bearing of 241° 33′, a distance of 6034·7 links; thence towards the south-east on a bearing of 151° 33′, a distance of 9542·8 links; thence towards the south-west on a bearing of 231° 16′, a distance of 7861·9 links; thence towards the north-west on a bearing of 320°, a distance of 6595·1 links; thence towards the north-east on a bearing of 228° 49′, a distance of 3164·8 links; thence towards the north-west on a bearing of 319° 59′ 20″, a distance of 5961·6 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: save and except the legal roads within the above-described block: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L.S. 22630, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” and its amendments, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consent of the owners of the lands mentioned in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Rodney County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said lands are situated, proclaim as a road the lands in Pakiri Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the road first hereinbefore proclaimed.
