Special Order made by the Council of the County of Cook.

THE following special order, made by the Cook County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order made on the 22nd day of March, 1907, confirmed on the 24th day of April, 1907.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Cook County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £800, authorised to be raised by the Cook County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for restoring Ngatapa Road, £500; constructing bridge and formation, Aroha Creek, the said Cook County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Ngatapa Special-rating District No. 2, comprising Wharekopae 1b2, Wharekopae 1a, Sections 1 and 2, Block IX, Ngatapa Survey District; Sections 1 and 2, Block XIII, Ngatapa Survey District; Section 1, Block V, Ngatapa Survey District; Section 2, Section 1, Block X, Ngatapa Survey District; Section 2, Block VII, Ngatapa Survey District; Lots 6, 7, 12, 13, Tahora 2; Lots 10, 14, 15, Tahora 2; Lot 9, Tahora 2; Sections 11, 16, Tahora 2; Wharekopae 2a2b; part Wharekopae 1a. Subdivision 1; Section 1, Block VI, Ngatapa Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest to be 4 per cent.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Cook was hereto affixed in the presence of—

HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Meeting, 11th May, 1907.—Copy of Special Order.—Shannon Special-rating District £750 Loan.

THAT, in pursuance of and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the several amendments thereof, the Horowhenua County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest at 4 per cent. and other charges on a loan of £750, authorised to be raised by the Horowhenua County Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” clause 14, paragraph (4), for the purpose of straightening creek and forming road and drain in the Shannon Special-rating District, comprised by Sections 73, 76, 79/83, 123, 122, 1 and 2 of 685, 81 of 520/32, 75/6 of 520/32, 306/12, 3 of 685, 77/80 of 520/32, part 323, 5/8 of 685, 369, 121 of 520/32, 304/5, 117/8 of 520/32, 119 of 520/32, 4 of 685, 320, 293/4, 316, 370, 319, 371/2, 317, 376, 429/47, 449, 451, 366/8, 321, 373/9, 385/91, 384/93, 322, part 323, 313/4, 397/412, 495/6, 315, 318, 120 of 520/32, 681/4, 515/8, 519, Township of Shannon, the said Horowhenua County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2⁹⁄₁₆d. in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable properties in the Shannon Special-rating District, or as more particularly set forth in the ratepayers’ consent and the plan; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. This special order to be confirmed at a subsequent meeting to be held on the 8th day of June, 1907.—Carried.

I declare the above to be a copy of the special order relating to Shannon Special-rating District and making special rate of 2⁹⁄₁₆d. special rate for loan of £750.

Confirmation of Special Order.—Shannon Special-rating District Loan of £750.—8th June, 1907.

That the special order made at a special meeting held on the 11th day of May, 1907, for raising a loan of £750, under clause 14, paragraph (4), of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of straightening creek, forming road and drain in the Shannon Special-rating District, and making and levying a special rate of 2⁹⁄₁₆d. in the pound upon the capital valuation of all rateable properties in the said district for forty-one years at 4 per cent., be now confirmed.—Carried.

I hereby certify the above to be a copy of the confirming resolution of the above special order relating to £750 loan in Shannon Special-rating District.

Forbidding the Registering, Forwarding, or Delivery of Postal Correspondence for Alfred Bennett and others.

THE Postmaster-General of the Colony of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the persons and the institute and companies whose names or styles and addresses are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in advertising the treatment of diseases of the sexual organs, it is hereby ordered, under section 9 of “The Post Office Act Amendment Act, 1906,” that no postal packet addressed to any of such persons (either by their own or any fictitious or assumed name), or to such institute, or to such companies, or to such addresses without a name, shall be either registered, forwarded, or delivered by the Post Office of New Zealand.

THE Postmaster-General of the Colony of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the company whose name is shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying on a fraudulent business, it is hereby ordered, under section 9 of “The Post Office Act Amendment Act, 1906,” that no postal packet addressed to such company (either by its own or any fictitious or assumed name) shall be either registered, forwarded, or delivered by the Post Office of New Zealand.
