Approving and Appointing a Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” I, the Minister of Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the undermentioned warehouse to be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond, namely,—

Port of Wellington.

Part of the sixth floor of P. Hayman and Co.’s warehouse, situated in Victoria Street, on parts 3, 4, and 5 of Section 16 on the plan of the City of Wellington, built of brick and roofed with iron, to be known as

P. HAYMAN AND CO.’S BOND.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this twelfth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seven.

Varied Notice fixing Closing-hours of Shops in the Borough of Motueka.

WHEREAS by notice dated the 1st day of August, 1905, and gazetted on the 3rd day of August, 1905, the Minister of Labour, in exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred upon him by section 21 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and acting in accordance with a requisition duly made and certified by that section, did direct that from and after the 7th day of August, 1905, all shops in the Borough of Motueka, except tobacconists’, hairdressers’, and fruiterers’, should be closed at 6 o’clock p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays; at 10 o’clock p.m. on Saturdays; and at 1 o’clock p.m. on Wednesdays (the weekly half-holiday): And whereas by a like requisition, duly made and certified as aforesaid, he has been requested to vary the said notice by further exempting chemists and dealers in photographic requisites from closing:

Now, therefore, in compliance with the last-mentioned requisition, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 21 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and section 5 of “The Shop and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” I do hereby vary the said notice by directing that on and after the 22nd day of July, 1907, all chemists and dealers in photographic requisites shall be exempted accordingly.

Varied Notice fixing Closing-hours of Butchers’ Shops in the City of Wellington.

WHEREAS by notice dated the 3rd day of April, 1906, and gazetted on the 5th day of April, 1906, the Minister of Labour, in exercise of the powers in that behalf conferred upon him by section 21 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and section 5 of “The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” and acting in accordance with a requisition duly made and certified as required by those sections, did direct that from and after the 9th day of April, 1906, all butchers’ shops in the City of Wellington should be closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 5.30 p.m., on the statutory half-holiday at 1 p.m., and on Saturdays at 9 p.m.: And whereas by a like requisition, duly made and certified as aforesaid, he has been requested to vary the said notice by fixing the hours for closing of all butchers’ shops as follows: That the hour of closing on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve shall be 10 p.m.; that if any public holiday fall on a Saturday the hour of closing on the preceding Friday shall be 9 p.m.; and that the hour of closing on the night preceding any public holiday which is not affected by the above two exceptions shall be 7 p.m.:

Now, therefore, in compliance with the last-mentioned requisition, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 21 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and section 5 of “The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” I do hereby vary the said notice by directing that on and after the 22nd day of July, 1907, all butchers’ shops in the City of Wellington shall be closed accordingly on the days mentioned.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Shops in the Town District of Bulls under the Shops and Offices Act.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the Town District of Bulls, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all shops in the town district shall be closed in the evening of every working-day (except Saturday and the statutory closing-day) at the hour of 6 of the clock, and on Saturday at the hour of 9 of the clock: And whereas the Town Board has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the town district:

Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and section 5 of “The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” do hereby direct that from and after the 22nd day of July, 1907, all the shops in the Town District of Bulls shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 10 of “The Friendly Societies Act, 1882,” by writing under his hand dated this 15th day of July, 1907, cancelled the registry of the Canterbury Engineers’ Band Society, on the ground that the said society has ceased to exist.
