NOTICE is hereby given that RECKITT AND SONS (LIMITED), a company incorporated in England, proposes to carry on business in New Zealand, and that the Office or place of business in New Zealand, where legal process of any kind may be served upon the company, and notices of any kind may be addressed or delivered, will be at No. 43 King’s Chambers, at the corner of Willis Street and Harbour Street, Wellington.

THE COLONISTS’ LAND AND LOAN CORPORATION (LIMITED).

IN pursuance of the above Act, notice is hereby given that the Colonists’ Land and Loan Corporation (Limited), a company incorporated, and having its registered office at No. 9 New Broad Street, in the City of London, and its chief office for the Colony of New Zealand in the Town of Feilding, intends voluntarily to cease carrying on business in any part of New Zealand as from the date hereof.

I, GEORGE FRANCIS PEARCE, of the City of Wellington, Merchant, do solemnly and sincerely declare that I have signed the foregoing notice as Attorney for and on behalf of the Colonists’ Land and Loan Corporation (Limited), under power of attorney dated the 7th day of January, 1902, a copy whereof is deposited in the Supreme Court Office at Wellington, and that I have received no notice or information of the revocation of the said power of attorney by the winding-up or dissolution of the said corporation or otherwise.

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE is hereby given that the above-named Council proposes to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road through a portion of the Poukawa Native Reserve, and to take for that purpose the lands described in the Schedule hereto, being lands vested in the Public Trustee on behalf of the Natives beneficially interested in the said reserve. And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands required to be taken for the purpose aforesaid has been deposited in the offices of the above-named Council, in Tennyson Street, Napier, and is there open to inspection at all reasonable hours; and all persons affected by or in anywise concerned in the premises are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections they or any of them may have either to the taking of the said lands or to the execution of the said work, and to send such writing to the above-named Council within forty days from the date hereunder written, being the date of the first publication of this notice.

SCHEDULE.

One acre and seventeen decimal five perches, portion of the Poukawa Native Reserve, situate in Block IX, Te Mata Survey District, being the land coloured pink on the aforesaid plan.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership previously existing between the undersigned as General Storekeepers, at Whatatutu, near Gisborne, has been mutually dissolved as from the 30th day of September, 1906.

WAIPUKURAU TOWN BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waipukurau Town Board intend to take certain land, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and amendments thereof, for the purpose of a public recreation-ground. The land proposed to be taken is part Native Reserve 30N. A plan of the said land is open for public inspection at the office of the Waipukurau Town Board, Waipukurau. All persons having any objection to the taking of such land are called upon to lodge such objections in writing at the office of the Waipukurau Town Board, Waipukurau, on or before the 25th day of February, 1907.

BY-LAWS NOS. 1, 3, 4, 5, AND 6 OF LAKE COUNTY. 1906.

LAKE COUNTY, NEW ZEALAND.

By-law No. 1.—Repealing Existing By-laws.

IN pursuance of the powers, provisions, and authorities contained in “The Counties Act, 1886,” and “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and all or any amendments thereof respectively, and all other enabling powers, provisions, and authorities contained in any other Acts or otherwise vested in it, the Council of Lake County doth hereby, by special order, make and ordain the following by-law for Lake County, that is to say:—

  1. All by-laws of the Council of Lake County in force at the time of the coming into force of this by-law are hereby repealed, but shall, notwithstanding, remain in full force so far only as relates to any offence or breach committed, penalty incurred, prosecution or proceeding commenced, license issued, or notice given under or against any of the provisions thereof before the coming into force of this by-law. 2. This by-law shall come into force on the 25th day of July, 1906.

This by-law was duly made by special order by the Lake County Council, and the resolution making such by-law by special order was duly passed at a special meeting of the said Council held on Tuesday, the 1st day of May, 1906, and was confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on Wednesday, the 20th day of June, 1906.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of Lake County was hereto affixed by authority of the Lake County Council at its meeting held this 20th day of June, 1906, in the presence of—
