charges on a loan of £600 sterling, authorised to be raised by the Foxton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of providing the Foxton Borough Council’s share of the cost of constructing a bridge (including approaches and protective works) over the Manawatu River near Shannon, known as the Shannon Bridge, the site of the said bridge, approaches, and protective works being more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 2749, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon shown in red colour, such loan to be at 4½ per centum per annum for a period of forty-one years, the said Foxton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon all rateable property within the boundaries of the Foxton Borough; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly, at the Council Office, Foxton, on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above special orders were confirmed at a special meeting of the Foxton Borough Council held on 8th day of April, 1907.

Special Order.—Special Meeting, 13th April.—Authorisation of Loan.
THAT, in pursuance of and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Public Works Act, 1905,” clause 118, and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” clause 14, paragraph 3, and the several amendments thereof, the Horowhenua County Council resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of erecting a high traffic-bridge over the Manawatu River at Shannon, the Horowhenua County Council is authorised to borrow from the Colonial Treasurer the sum of £1,200, under the provisions of the Acts above mentioned, for the purpose above stated, over the whole County of Horowhenua.—Carried.
Confirmation, 11th May.
That the special order made at a special meeting held on the 13th day of April, 1907—viz., a special order authorising the borrowing from the Colonial Treasurer the sum of £1,200, under “The Public Works Act, 1905,” clause 118, and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” clause 14, paragraph (3), for the erection of a high traffic-bridge over the Manawatu River near Shannon—be now confirmed.—Carried.
I hereby certify the above to be a true copy of a special order made on the 13th April, 1907, and the confirmation of same on the 11th May, 1907.

That, in pursuance of and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the several amendments thereof, the Horowhenua County Council resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest at 4 per cent. and other charges on a loan of £1,200, authorised to be raised by the Horowhenua County Council, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” sub-clause (3) of section 118, and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” clause 14, paragraph (3), for the purpose of erecting a traffic-bridge, including approaches and protective works, over the Manawatu River at Shannon, the said Horowhenua County hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/30d. in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable properties within the said Horowhenua County; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off; and this special order will be confirmed at a subsequent meeting to be held on the 11th day of May, 1907.—Carried.

That the special order made at a special meeting held on the 13th day of April for raising a loan of £1,200 for erection of a traffic-bridge, including approaches and protective works, and the making and levying of a special rate of 1/30d. in the pound upon the capital valuation of all rateable properties in the whole of the Horowhenua County to pay interest at 4 per cent. and other charges for a period of forty-one years, be now confirmed.—Carried.

POHANGINA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Pohangina County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £250, authorised to be raised by the Pohangina County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the constructing a bridge over the Opawe Creek, the said Pohangina County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/15d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the Tamaki Riding of the Pohangina County; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off, the interest of such loan being at the rate of 4 per centum per annum.
I, Robert Workman Brown, Chairman of the Pohangina County Council, do hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Pohangina County Council held on the 13th day of April, 1907, and was duly confirmed at a special meeting of the said Pohangina County Council held on the 11th day of May, 1907.
