Declaring Part of Maude Road, in the Waiwakaiho Road District, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of May, 1907.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that part of Maude Road, in the Waiwakaiho Road District, described in the Schedule hereto, shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a county road.

Exempting Part of Brougham Street and Pirie Street, in the City of Wellington, from the Provisions of Section 117 of “The Public Works Act, 1905.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of May, 1907.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of a road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor in Council:

And whereas by section three of “The Public Works Act Amendment Act, 1906,” it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions as the Governor in Council thinks fit to impose:

And whereas on the fourteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and seven, the Council of the City of Wellington, the local authority having control of the streets known as Brougham Street and Pirie Street, being the streets described in the Schedule hereto, did by resolution declare that the provisions of the said section one hundred and seventeen should not apply to the said streets:

And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby approve of the said resolution.

SCHEDULE.

Those portions of the streets known as Brougham Street, in the City of Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, situated between Patrick Street and Ellice Street, thence from Ellice Street to Pirie Street, and from Elizabeth Street to Majoribank Street; also that portion of Pirie Street from Brougham Street to Lloyd's Street, in the said City of Wellington: as the said streets are more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 8699, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured pink.

Alexandra Fire District defined.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of May, 1907.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section thirty of “The Fire Brigades Act, 1906” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor may by Order in Council from time to time, on application of any Borough Council, declare any area under the control of such Borough Council to be a fire district under the said Act: And whereas such application has been made by the Alexandra Borough Council in respect of the area described in the Schedule hereto, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, and it appears expedient to grant the said application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a fire district under the said Act, that the name of such district shall be “The Alexandra Fire District,” and that the boundaries thereof shall be those set forth in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

THE ALEXANDRA FIRE DISTRICT.

ALL that area, situated in the Land District of Otago, known as the Borough of Alexandra. Bounded towards the north-west by Block VII, Leaning Rock Survey District, 11919 links; towards the north-east by Block VII, Leaning Rock Survey District, 7615 links; towards the east by the Manuherikia River, 8800 links; and towards the south by the Clutha River, 11000 links.

Masterton Fire District defined.

MASTERTON FIRE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District known as the Borough of Masterton. Bounded towards the north-east generally by the right banks of the Waipoua and Ruamahanga Rivers from a point on the said bank of the
