Also all that road in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, known as the Ongaha Road, commencing from its junction with the Mangatoro Valley Road at the southern corner of Section 1, Block XII, Mangatoro Survey District, and proceeding thence in a north-westerly direction to its junction with the Dannevirke — Weber coach-road, a distance of 4 miles 62 chains; as the said road is more particularly delineated on a plan marked R. 7741A, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, thereon coloured yellow, and lettered A.B.

Exempting Daniel Street, Newtown, in the City of Wellington, from the Provisions of Section 117 of “The Public Works Act, 1905.”

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of April, 1907.

WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of a road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor in Council:
And whereas by section three of “The Public Works Act Amendment Act, 1906,” it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions as the Governor by Order in Council thinks fit to impose:
And whereas on the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seven, the Council of the City of Wellington, the local authority having control of the street described in the Schedule hereto, did by resolution declare that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen should not apply to the said street:
And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby approve the said resolution, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on either side of the said street within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said street.
SCHEDULE.
That street known as Daniel Street, Newtown, in the City of Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, situated between Newtown Park and the Hospital Reserve Town Belt, about 1½ chains north of Mein Street, in the said City of Wellington; as the said street is more particularly delineated on a plan marked R. 8735, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.

Validating the Public Notification of the Special Order in connection with a Loan of £6,000 applied for by the Makerua Drainage Board.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of April, 1907.

THE HONOURABLE W. HALL-JONES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Makerua Drainage Board lately proposed to raise a loan of six thousand pounds, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of constructing in part and reconstructing in part a drain, to be known as the main drain, from the Manawatu River to a junction with the Mangaone Creek, and for improving, widening, and deepening the Tokomaru Stream from Section 56 to the Manawatu River: And whereas the public notification of the special order making the special rate was published in the Manawatu Evening Standard newspaper for four weeks, but was not published once in each week of the four weeks immediately preceding the date of the subsequent meeting at which the special order was confirmed, as required by section eleven of “The Counties Act Amendment Act, 1903”: And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the said notification:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section ten of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1902,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that such public notification of the special order shall be deemed and taken to be as valid as though the said notification had been properly published, and that the proceedings relative to the said loan shall not be called in question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of April, 1907.

THE HONOURABLE W. HALL-JONES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Hobson County Council lately proposed to raise a loan of two thousand pounds for the purpose of making additions to the Dargaville Wharf: And whereas a special order making a special rate has been made as security for the said loan: And whereas the provisions of section nine of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” were not complied with, inasmuch as there was a lapse of twelve days between the last publication of the notice of intention to raise the said loan and the date on which the meeting of the ratepayers to consider the proposal was held: And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled, and it is expedient to validate such irregularity:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section ten of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1902,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the said meeting of the ratepayers shall be taken to be as valid as though such meeting had been regularly held within the prescribed period, and that the proceedings relative to the said loan shall not be called in question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

Extension of Time for Preparation of County Rolls, &c., County of Eltham.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of April, 1907.

THE HONOURABLE W. HALL-JONES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that, owing to unavoidable circumstances, the preparation of the rolls for the County of Eltham, and the taking of certain steps consequent on such preparation, cannot be made and taken within the times limited by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and it is expedient to extend the said times respectively:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers conferred upon him by “The Counties Act Amendment Act, 1903,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and declare that the several dates mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be the respective dates for taking the several steps set out in the said Schedule.
