THE following special order, made by the Wairarapa South County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Wairarapa South County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and charges on a loan of £500, authorised to be raised by the Wairarapa South County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for metalling the Eringa Road, and also for the payment of any preliminary expenses incurred in connection with the scheme for which the loan is to be raised, and for the payment of the first year’s interest during the progress of the work, the said Wairarapa South County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¾d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Eringa Road Special-rating District, comprising Sections 1, 4, 5, and 6,
Longbush Settlement, Block VIII, Huangarua Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of July and the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off. Interest on the said loan to be at the rate of 5 per centum per annum.
I certify that the foregoing special order was adopted at a properly convened special meeting of the Wairarapa South County Council held the 28th day of November, 1906, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held the 5th day of January, 1907.

Uxbridge Special-rating District.—Special Order striking Special Rate.
PROPOSED by Councillor McInness, seconded by Councillor Strong,—
That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Howick Township Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £275, authorised to be raised by the Howick Township Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing for the grading, forming, and metalling Uxbridge Street, Uxbridge Special-rating District, the Howick Township Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ¾d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Uxbridge Special-rating District, comprising the following allotments—1 to 5, old survey, Section 1, Block 81, Otahuhu Survey District; Allotments 1 to 23, Thompson’s subdivision; Section 1, Block 81, Otahuhu Survey District; and Allotments 1 to 26, Section 2, Block 81, Otahuhu Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The interest to be paid on the loan herein referred to is to be at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum.
I, Thomas Newcombe, Clerk to the Howick Township Road Board, do hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a special order made by the Howick Township Road Board on the 14th day of December, 1906, and confirmed at a special meeting held on the 12th day of January, 1907.
