pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Mangapoiki Special District, comprising the land enclosed in the following boundaries—starting at the northern boundary of the Wairoa County at the point where it intersects with the eastern boundary of Small Grazing-run No. 75A in Block V, Nuhaka North Survey District; following the eastern boundary of that run (No. 75A) to the Mangapahi Road; following that road to the western boundary of Section 1, Block IX, Nuhaka North Survey District; following the western boundaries of Sections 1 and 3, Block IX, Nuhaka North Survey District, to the Mangapoiki No. 3 Block; following in an easterly direction the northern boundary of that block, and then its south-eastern boundary to the Makaretu Stream; following down that stream to Section 31A, Block X, Opoiti Survey District; following the eastern boundary of that section (31A) to the Tutuotekaha No. 3 Block; following the eastern, southern, and western boundaries of that block to the Kauhauroa No. 1 Block; following the eastern boundary of that block and the southern and western boundaries of the Kauhauroa No. 2 Block to the Kauhauroa No. 3 Block; following the southern and western boundaries of that block to the Kauhauroa Stream; following up that stream to Section 31A, Block X, Opoiti Survey District; following the western and northern boundaries of that section (31A) to the Tutuotekaha No. 4 Block; following the western boundary of that block to the Mangapoiki River; following down that river to the Opoiti Block; following the eastern boundary of that block and the northern boundaries of Mangapoiki No. 2c, 2e, and 2f Blocks to the county-boundary; and following the county-boundary to the starting-point: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I certify that this special order was adopted at a special meeting held on the 14th day of September, 1906, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 12th day of October, 1906.

KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Result of Poll.

I HEREBY give notice that the number of votes recorded upon the taking of the poll on the 21st day of December, 1906, for and against the proposal of the Council of the Borough of Karori to borrow (by way of special loan within the meaning of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments) the sum of £17,000 for road-widening and completion of tramway, was as follows: For the proposal, 243; against the proposal, 79; informal, 10.

I therefore declare the above proposal carried.

KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Result of Poll.

I hereby give notice that the number of votes recorded upon the taking of the poll on the 21st day of December, 1906, for and against the proposal of the Council of the Borough of Karori to borrow (by way of special loan within the meaning of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments) the sum of £32,000 for extension of tramway to Makara Hill and into Northland, was as follows: For the proposal, 121; against the proposal, 187; informal, 12.

I hereby declare that the above proposal was not carried.

I HEREBY give notice, under section 13 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” that the poll of the ratepayers, taken on the 10th day of January, 1907, on the Taihape Borough Council’s proposal to borrow £6,000 by way of special loan, under the provisions of the aforesaid Act, resulted as follows: For the proposal, 92; against the proposal, 25; informal, 2.

I therefore declare the proposal duly carried.

Appointing Time and Place for holding First Election of Board of Trustees under “The Waimumu Stream Drainage Act, 1906.”

HIS Excellency the Governor has, in pursuance of the powers vested in him by “The Waimumu Stream Drainage Act, 1906,” been pleased to appoint Friday, the eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and seven, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., as the date of holding the first election of Trustees for the Board, and the office of Robert Winning, Esq., in Short Street, Mataura, as the place for holding such first election.

Revocation of Appointment of Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the authority in me for this purpose vested, I, the Minister of Customs, do by this order under my hand revoke and annul the appointment of the undermentioned warehouse for the reception and security of goods entered to be warehoused without payment of duty upon the first entry thereof, namely,—

Port of Poverty Bay.

as appointed and described in Commissioner’s Order No. 767, of the 18th day of February, 1905.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” I, the Minister of Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the undermentioned warehouse to be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond, namely:—

Port of Poverty Bay.

A wooden building, with outside walls and roof of iron, situate on Section 70, Peel Street, Gisborne, to be known as

THE GISBORNE BOND.
