My Lord,—With reference to my predecessor’s letter of this number, dated 17th March, 1904, addressed to His Excellency the Earl of Ranfurly, I have the honour to inform Your Excellency that the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty acquaint me that they have approved of the present arrangements whereby a Commission as a Medical Officer in the Royal Navy is granted every alternate year to a New Zealand candidate being continued for a further period of three years.
- This means that a Commission is open for the year 1908 (commissions having been offered for the years 1904 and 1906), and I should therefore be glad if Your Excellency would cause the same to be made generally known, and arrange for the names of applicants to be submitted to you.
