NOTICE is hereby given that, the leases or licenses of the undermentioned lands having been forfeited by resolution of the Southland Land Board, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the notification of surrender of lands in the Auckland Land District published in New Zealand Gazette No. 42, of the 9th May, 1907, page 1482, is hereby revoked in so far as it relates to H.P.L. Lease No. 31, Block XII, Ohinemuri Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be open for sale or selection at this office, either for cash, for occupation with right of purchase, or for renewable lease, at the option of the selector, on Wednesday, the 29th day of January, 1908.
If more than one application is received for the section on the same day, the order of selection shall be decided by ballot.

Timber in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Tender.

NOTICE is hereby given, in terms of “The State Forests Act, 1885,” and its amendments, and the regulations thereunder, that written tenders will be received at the District Lands Office, Auckland, from the proprietors of existing sawmills, and logging contractors, up till 12 o’clock noon on Monday, the 6th January, 1908, for the purchase of the kauri and other milling timber standing on the undermentioned lots.

Puhipuhi State Forest.
129 GREEN rimu-trees, containing (approximately) 178,839 sup. ft. (standing measurement).
2 kahikatea-trees, containing approximately 4,288 sup. ft. (standing measurement).
Distinguishing-brand thus: Λ.
Time for removal of timber: Six months from date of acceptance of tender.
WHANGAREI COUNTY.
Lot 2.
Part Block VIII, Mangakahia Survey District.—Aponga State Forest.
11 green and 19 dry kauri-trees, containing (approximately) 24,911 sup. ft. (standing measurement).
4 dry totara-trees, containing (approximately) 5,200 sup. ft. (standing measurement).
Distinguishing-brand thus: Λ.
Time for removal: Six months from date of acceptance of tender.
CONDITIONS.
- Intending tenderers are expected to visit the locality and to satisfy themselves in every particular on all matters relating to their tender.
- The aforesaid quantity, quality, and kind as to the said timber shall be taken as sufficiently accurate for the purpose of this sale; and no contract for purchase shall be voidable, nor shall the successful tenderer be entitled to any abatement in price, by reason of the said timber being of less quantity, quality, and kind than as stated hereon or in any advertisement having reference to the said timber, nor shall any extra sum be claimed by the Crown if for any reason the quantity of timber is found to be in excess of that stated hereon.
- No tender will be considered wherein a less royalty is offered than 2s. per 100 sup. ft. for the kauri and totara, and 6d. per 100 sup. ft. for the rimu and kahikatea.
- The position of the timber is only approximately shown on the lithograph, and should any dispute arise as to boundaries, the decision of the Commissioner of Crown Lands shall be final.
- In the event of any of the above lots not being disposed of, consideration will be given to applications made at any time within six months from the above date of closing of tenders (unless previously withdrawn formally), providing, however, that the amount offered is not less than the upset price stated hereon.
- All tenders must be submitted on forms which may be obtained from the Postmasters, Puhipuhi, Whakapara, Aponga, Mangakahia, and Whangarei, or same will be supplied on application to the above office. Envelopes enclosing tenders must be marked “Tender for Timber,” and addressed to the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Auckland.
TERMS.
Separate tenders for the lots of timber must be accompanied with a deposit of 5 per cent. on the amount of tender, in cash, marked cheque, or post-office order; the balance to be paid in cash, if tender accepted, within seven days after notification of acceptance of tender.
