THE following special order, made by the Sluggish River Drainage Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

SLUGGISH RIVER DRAINAGE BOARD.
Special Order.—Special Rate.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amending Acts, the Sluggish River Drainage Board hereby resolves to make application for a loan of £3,015, under section 14 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and section 3 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act Amendment Act, 1906,” for the purpose of efficiently repairing and maintaining a drain known as the main drain, extending from the Oroua River to the north-eastern boundary of the Board’s district; and to levy special rates upon a special district, to be known as Special District No. 1, for the repayment of principal and interest upon the said special loan of £3,015. Such special rates to be a special rate of 3d. in the pound on the rateable valuation of Sections 1, 3, 338, 339, and 386, and Subsections 33, 57 to 75 (both inclusive), 84, 85, 99, 101, 102, 103, 104, and parts of 86 and 105; a special rate of ½d. in the pound on the rateable valuations of Sections 2, 5, 7, and Subsections 31, 82, 83, 100, and parts of 56, 86, and 105; and a special rate of ¼d. in the pound on the rateable valuations of Subsections 32, 82, 83, 106 to 115 (both sections inclusive), and parts of 56—all in Blocks XI, XII, XV, XVI, Te Kawau Survey District, County of Manawatu. Such special rates to be annually recurring rates during the currency of such loan, and to be payable half-yearly on the 1st days of May and November in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The cost of raising the loan and the first year’s interest to be paid out of loan.
This special order was made at a special meeting of the Sluggish River Drainage Board on the 26th day of August, 1907, and confirmed at a special meeting of the Board on the 26th day of September, 1907, and was published in the Manawatu Evening Standard on the 28th August and 4th, 11th, and 18th days of September, 1907.

BULL’S TOWN BOARD.
Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Town Districts Act, 1881,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Bull’s Town Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £600 for two years’ expenditure, authorised to be raised by the Bull’s Town Board, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of concrete kerbing, forming, metalling, and asphalting footpaths within the Town District of Bull’s, the said Bull’s Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2d. in the pound sterling upon the annual rateable value of all rateable property within the Bull’s Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring one during the currency of such loan, and be payable in one sum on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off, the interest on such loan being at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly adopted at a special meeting of the Bull’s Town Board held on the 6th day of November, 1907, and was confirmed at a special meeting of the Bull’s Town Board held on Wednesday, the 11th day of December, 1907, at 5.30 p.m.

BOROUGH OF GORE.
In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”
I, ARCHIBALD ALEXANDER MACGIBBON, Mayor of the Borough of Gore, do hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Gore was taken on Friday, the 6th day of December, 1907, on the following proposals: To raise special loans for the following undertakings, that is to say,—
Particular Undertaking. Sum proposed to be borrowed for each Work.

Water-supply extension .. .. .. 3,000
Electric-light extension .. .. .. 1,000
and to secure the above loans and repayment thereof and the interest thereon by the issue of debentures of £100 each, bearing interest at the rate of 4½ per cent. per annum, and a sinking fund of 1 per cent. per annum, payable half-yearly; such debentures to have a currency of seven years from the 1st day of October, 1907; and that the security for the repayment of the said debentures, interest, and sinking fund shall be the various undertakings enumerated above, and also a special rate on the whole of the rateable property in the Borough of Gore; and to pay out of any moneys realised by any of the said loans the cost of raising the same.
And I also give notice that in regard to each of the aforesaid proposals, which were separately voted upon, the following votes were recorded:—
