the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Upper Puniho Special-rating District, comprising Sections 28, 29, 33, 34, and 24 (said Section 24 to be charged half-rates only), Subdivisions 11 and 12 of Section 32, Subdivisions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 of Section 7, Block V (said Subdivision 9 to be charged half-rates only); Sections 36 and 37, Subdivision 2 of Section 35, and Subdivisions 1, 2, and 3 of Section 30, Block IX; Subdivisions 13, 14, 15, and 16 of Section 3, Subdivisions 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 of Section 4, and Subdivision 12 of Section 6, Block X, Cape Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The interest on the said loan shall be at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum.
I certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a special order made by the Parihaka Road Board passed at a special meeting of the Board held on the 16th day of May, 1907, at Rahotu, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the Board held at Rahotu on the 12th day of June, 1907.

PARIHAKA ROAD BOARD.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, the Parihaka Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £450, authorised to be raised by the Parihaka Road Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of forming, draining, culverting, and metalling the Opourapa Road from a point 2 chains east of the boundary-peg between Sections 5 and 6, Block XIII, Cape Survey District, to a point 72 chains east of the above-mentioned boundary-peg, the said Parihaka Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1¹⁵⁄₁₆d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property of the Opourapa Road No. 2 Special-rating District, comprising Subsections 1, 2, and 3 of Section 7, Block XIII, Cape Survey District; part of Section 21, Section 22, and Subsection 1 of Section 23, Block II, Opunake Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed at a special meeting of the Parihaka Road Board held on the 19th day of September, 1907, and was duly confirmed at the ordinary meeting of the said Board held on the 13th day of November, 1907.

THE following special orders, made by the Wanganui Borough Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

WANGANUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Wanganui Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of £40,000, authorised to be raised by the Wanganui Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act and the amendments thereof, for the construction, under “The Tramways Act, 1894,” and other Acts enabling it in that behalf, of an electric tramway along the streets of the borough and outside the borough to a point in the Waitotara County on the River-bank Road, and the providing of electric tram-cars, power-house, car-shed, and all land, buildings, machinery, appliances, plant, apparatus, and things necessary or convenient for the purpose of constructing, maintaining, and working such tramway, and for the extension of such tramway and all things incidental thereto or used in connection therewith, the Wanganui Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 8d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the said Wanganui Borough, comprising the Town of Wanganui as the boundaries thereof are laid down in the New Zealand Company’s map, towards the north-east and south-east by the Wanganui River, and towards the south-south-west and north-west by the Town Belt, together with the parcel of land adjoining the Town of Wanganui and commonly known as the Town Belt, granted to the Superintendent of the Province of Wellington by letters patent or Crown grant dated the 3rd day of June, 1861, under the public Seal of the Colony and the hand of Thomas Gore Browne, the then Governor thereof, which said borough was proclaimed as such by a Proclamation published in the New Zealand Gazette of the year 1872, at page 88; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 8th day of June and the 8th day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above special order was passed at a special meeting of the Council held on the 12th day of November, 1907, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting held on the 10th day of December, 1907.
The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Wanganui was hereto affixed to the above-written special order by order of the Council and by and in the presence of—
