Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in Boundaries of City of Wellington and of Borough of Karori.

Office of the Minister of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 11th December, 1907.

PURSUANT to section 176 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him, praying that the said area may be excluded from the Borough of Karori and included in the City of Wellington. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to, or petitions against, the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the southernmost corner of Section No. 56, Block VI, Port Nicholson Survey District; thence easterly along the southern boundary of the said Section No. 56 and the southern boundary of the Otari Native Reserve to the Kaiwarra Stream; thence southerly along that stream to the south-western corner of Section No. 1, Block VI aforesaid; thence easterly along the southern boundary of the last-mentioned section to its south-eastern corner; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 1 and 2, Block VI aforesaid, to the western boundary of the City of Wellington; thence generally southerly along the western boundary of the City of Wellington to the northernmost corner of the Waterworks Reserve on the south-western boundary of Original Section No. 32 of the said Block VI; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned section to the Karori Road; thence across that road and along the south-western boundary of Section No. 33 to the southernmost corner of Section No. 56, the place of commencement.

Special Order made by the Wanganui County Council constituting Mangamahu Road District, and redefining Boundaries of Wangaehu Road District.

THE following special order, made by the Wanganui County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1886.”

WANGANUI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order made by Wanganui County Council on the 18th September, 1907, and confirmed on the 1st November, 1907.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon it by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” “The Counties Act, 1886,” and the respective amendments thereof, and of all other powers (if any), the Wanganui County Council, by way of special order, hereby resolves and declares that a portion of the Upper Wangaehu Road District shall constitute a new road district, to be called the Mangamahu Road District, having the following boundaries, that is to say: All that portion of the Upper Wangaehu Road District bounded by the Rangitikei County boundary from the south-eastern corner of the Upper Wangaehu Road District to the southern boundary of Section 65, Block X, Maungakaretu Survey District; thence by the southern boundary of the said Section 65 to Hales Road; thence by Hales Road to the north-eastern corner of Section 73, Block IX, Maungakaretu Survey District; thence by the northern boundary of the said Section 73 to the Koukopo Stream; thence by the Koukopo Stream to the north-eastern corner of the Pungataua Block; thence by the northern and north-western boundaries of the Pungataua Block to the Wangaehu River; thence by the Wangaehu River to the Waimarino County boundary; thence by the Waimarino County boundary to the boundary of the Mangawhero Road District; thence by the eastern boundaries of the Mangawhero and Kaukatea Road Districts and the north-eastern boundary of the Purua Road District to the point of commencement on the Rangitikei County boundary. And also that the number of members of the proposed Mangamahu Road Board shall be five, and that the said Mangamahu Road District shall not be divided into subdivisions. And also that the boundaries of the Upper Wangaehu Road District shall be redefined as follows:—All that portion of the Upper Wangaehu Road District not included in the said Mangamahu Road District described above, having the following boundaries, that is to say: Bounded by the southern boundary of Section 65, Block X, Maungakaretu Survey District, from the point where it is intersected by the Rangitikei County boundary to Hales Road; thence by the west side of Hales Road to the north-eastern corner of Section 73, Block IX, Maungakaretu Survey District; thence by the northern boundary of the said Section 73 to the Koukopo Stream; thence by the Koukopo Stream to the north-eastern corner of the Pungataua Block; thence by the northern and north-western boundaries of the Pungataua Block to the Wangaehu River; thence by the Wangaehu River to the Waimarino County boundary; thence by the Waimarino County boundary to the Rangitikei County boundary; and thence by the Rangitikei County boundary to the point of commencement.

I certify that the above-written descriptions are sufficient to identify the proposed road districts on the maps of this Department.

THE following special order, made by the Parihaka Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

PARIHAKA ROAD BOARD.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and section 68 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and amendments thereof respectively, the Parihaka Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £300, being 10 per cent. additional on a loan of £3,000, authorised to be raised by the Parihaka Road Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of draining, forming, culverting, and metalling the Upper Puniho Road from the Main South Road to the Carrington Road, the Parihaka Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in
