Cook County Council.
Special Order made on the 19th day of October, 1906; confirmed on the 21st day of November, 1906.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Cook County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £500, authorised to be raised by the Cook County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for metalling portion of road between Te Aroha Station and the junction of the Hangaroa Road, the said Cook County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Aroha Loan District No. 1, comprising Sections 113, 122, 123, Block II, Patutahi Survey District; part Okahuatiu 2A, 7,225 acres 2 roods 28 perches; Okahuatiu No. 2c, Sections 1, 4; Okahuatiu No. 2c, Section 2; Okahuatiu No. 2D, Sections 1, 2A, 3, 2B; part Okahuatiu No. 2, 6,000 acres: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest to be 5 per cent.

THE following special orders, made by the Hawera Borough Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

Special Order raising Loan.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Hawera Borough Council hereby resolves to borrow by way of special order the sum of £12,850, for the purpose of redeeming and consolidating existing loans falling due as under:—

And that such loan of £12,850 be raised by the sale of debentures having a currency of three years as from 16th January, 1907, and bearing interest at the rate of £5 per centum per annum; and, further, that the security for such loan of £12,850 be (1) a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of Hawera, and (2) the rent accruing from Subsections 1, 2, 3, and 6 of Section 7, Block 19, Borough of Hawera.
I certify the above to be a true copy of a resolution passed at a special meeting of the Hawera Borough Council held on Wednesday, 22nd October, 1906, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on Wednesday, 21st November, 1906.

Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Hawera Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £12,850, authorised to be raised by the Hawera Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of redeeming and consolidating existing loans of £12,500 and £350, the said Hawera Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of Hawera; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of three years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I certify the above to be a true copy of a resolution adopted at a special meeting of the Hawera Borough Council held on Wednesday, 22nd October, 1906, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on Wednesday, 21st November, 1906.

THE following special order, made by the Wellington City Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

Wellington City Council.—Melrose Tramways Loan, £22,000.
Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purposes of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £22,000, authorised to be raised by the Wellington City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, to be expended in the completion of the construction of the electric tramways to and in the Kilbirnie and Ohirio Districts, an extension of the proposed Kilbirnie route along the Seatoun Road to Lyell Bay Road, and an extension of the existing Oriental Bay line for a distance of about 8 chains, the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies (by special order) a special rate of ½d. in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in that portion of the city hitherto known as the Melrose Ward, the boundaries of which are set forth in the Schedule to this resolution; and that such special rate be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of July and the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-four years from the 1st day of September, 1905, or until the loan is fully paid off.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Provincial District of Wellington bounded towards the north and east and again towards the north and towards the west by the City of Wellington, as it was bounded prior to the incorporation therein of the Borough of Melrose, to Port Nicholson; thence again towards the north and east generally by Port Nicholson and the waters of Evans Bay to the western boundary-line of Section No. 9, Block VII, Port Nicholson Survey District; thence by said Section No. 9 and Section No. 13, Block XI, to Lyell Bay; thence towards the south generally by Lyell Bay and Cook Strait to the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 27, Block VIII; thence towards the west by that boundary-line, and by Sections Nos. 38, 70, 7, 6, 5, 4, and 3, Block X, by the western boundary-line of the Waterworks Reserve running through Section No. 1, Block XVI, and by Sections Nos. 32 and 29, Block VI, Port Nicholson Survey District, to the City of Wellington, as it was bounded prior to the incorporation therein of the Borough of Melrose aforesaid.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly adopted at a special meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 4th day of October, 1906, and was duly confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the Council duly held on the 6th day of November, 1906.
