the Hawera Borough Council’s half-share of the cost of reconstructing (a) the Main South Road from the Waihi Road to that point where the railway-line intersects; (b) the Glover Road from the Waihi Road to the corner of Lombard Street, Hawera Borough: and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 21; against the proposal 17; informal votes, 1.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

THE following special order, made by the Wairarapa South County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” in substitution for that already gazetted on page 2332 of the New Zealand Gazette, 1906.

WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order striking Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Wairarapa South County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £150, authorised to be raised by the Wairarapa South County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for reducing the grade of a cutting on the Kokotau Road, in the Parkvale Riding of the Wairarapa South County, and also for the payment of any preliminary expenses incurred in connection with the scheme for which the loan is to be raised, hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Kokotau Hill Regrading Special-rating District, comprising Sections 1 to 5, Opuakiao, Sections 342 to 347 inclusive and Section 296, all in Block XV, Tiffen Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of July and the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. Interest on the said loan to be at the rate of 4 per centum per annum.
I certify that the foregoing special order was duly adopted at a properly convened special meeting of the Wairarapa South County Council held the 28th day of July, 1906, and duly confirmed at a subsequent meeting held the 28th day of August, 1906.

Special Order made on the 19th day of October, 1906; confirmed on the 21st day of November, 1906.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Cook County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,200, authorised to be raised by the Cook County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for widening to a dray-road the Wharekopae Bridle-track from Fall’s Bridge to Roberts’s, about five miles, the said Cook County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅝d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Tahoma Loan District, comprising part Subdivisions 2, 1A, Wharekopae, 879 acres; Section 1A, Subdivision 1, Wharekopae; Sections 1B, 2A, Wharekopae; Sections 3, 4, 5, Tahoma 2; Sections 10, 14, 15, Tahoma 2; Sections 6, 7, 12, 13, Tahoma 2; Section 2, Block IX, Ngatapa Survey District; Section 2, Block XIII, Ngatapa Survey District; Section 2, Block VII, Ngatapa Survey District; Section 1, Block X, Ngatapa Survey District; Section 1, Block XIII, Ngatapa Survey District; Section 1, Block IX, Ngatapa Survey District; Section 1, Block V, Ngatapa Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest to be 4 per cent.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Cook County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £350, authorised to be raised by the Cook County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for forming a road from Te Aroha Woolshed to Mills’s homestead, the said Cook County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅔d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Aroha Loan District No. 2, comprising Okahuatiu 2c, Sections 1, 4; Okahuatiu 2c, Section 2; Okahuatiu 2D, 1, 2A, 3, 2B: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest to be 5 per cent.
