Notifying Lands in Marlborough Land District under “The Bush and Swamp Crown Lands Settlement Act, 1903.”
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Bush and Swamp Crown Lands Settlement Act, 1903,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of section two of the said Act; and I do further declare that for the purposes of the said Act the lands described in the said Schedule shall be deemed to be “heavy-bush land.”

Notifying Lands in Otago Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the fourth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and six, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto opposite the description of such lands respectively.

Amending the Description of a Reserve in the Wellington Land District.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-ninth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that where there has been any error of description made in any notification of any intended reserve, or where there appears a great discrepancy in the area of any intended reserve after the same shall have been surveyed, the Governor may cancel any notification that may have been made in respect of such reserve, and issue fresh notifications in respect thereof, with amended particulars and descriptions: And whereas an error was made in the description of the area of land situated in Block VIII, Mangahao Survey District, Wellington Land District, and known as Makakahi Island,
which was wrongly stated in the notifications dated the first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 25, of the sixth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, and the eighth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 47, of the fifteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, reserving the land for public recreation; and it is expedient to cancel the said notifications in so far as they relate to the area mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the notifications of the first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, and the eighth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-three, in so far as they relate to the area of land situated in Block VIII, Mangahao Survey District, Wellington Land District, and known as Makakahi Island, and do declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be the land set apart for public recreation intended by the said notifications.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 14 acres 3 roods, more or less, being an island formed by an overflow channel of the Mangatainoka River, and including a portion of the bed of the said channel, situated in Block VIII, Mangahao Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east and east by Part 1 of Section 16 and by the Pahiatua Town District; towards the south-east by a road; and towards the south-west and west by the Mangatainoka River: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 50442, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Varying Subdivision of Auckland Oyster-fishery, and constituting and declaring it lawful to take Oysters in Rangitoto Subdivision.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by Warrant dated the twenty-eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 33, of the thirtieth day of the same month, the Auckland Oyster-fishery was constituted and divided into subdivisions:
And whereas it is desirable to vary the Southern Subdivision of the said oyster-fishery, and to constitute the Rangitoto Subdivision:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the “The Sea-fisheries Act, 1894,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby vary the Southern Subdivision of the Auckland Oyster-fishery by excluding from it the Island of Rangitoto and all tidal waters thereof, and doth declare and prescribe that the said Island of Rangitoto and all tidal waters thereof shall be a subdivision of the Auckland Oyster-fishery under the name of the Rangitoto Subdivision.
His Excellency the Governor doth further declare and prescribe that it shall be lawful to take oysters within the period prescribed in that behalf in the Rangitoto Subdivision aforesaid.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and six.

Duty to be levied on Sukrina.

WHEREAS a certain article of merchandise known as sukrina is imported into New Zealand, which is apparently a substitute for sugar, the latter being a dutiable article under “The Customs and Excise Duties Act, 1888”:
And whereas sukrina has properties which enable it to be used for a similar purpose as sugar:
