A PPLICATION having been made to me for the issue
of a provisional certificate of title in the name of
NIEL WALKER, of Wairoa, Sheep-farmer, for Agricultural
Sections 41 and 42 on the plan of the Turiroa Reserve,
being the whole of the land comprised in Vol. 5, folio 245,
of the Register-book, and evidence having been lodged with
me of the loss of the original certificate of title, I hereby
give notice that I will issue the provisional certificate as
requested unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same on
or before the 13th day of July, 1906.

THE CHRISTCHURCH TRAMWAY BOARD.

SPECIAL ORDER.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by “The Christchurch Tramways District
Act, 1902,” “The Christchurch Tramways District Act 1902
Amendment Act, 1903,” “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1901,” “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1902,”
and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1903,”
and of every other power and authority thereunto or in
that behalf enabling it, the Christchurch Tramway Board
hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing interest and other
charges on a loan of £55,000, authorised to be raised by the
Christchurch Tramway Board for the purpose of con-
structing and equipping a tramway from the point known
as the Hospital corner along the Riccarton Road to Sock-
burn and the Riccarton Racecourse, with loop-lines and
extensions thereof and other works incidental thereto, the
said Christchurch Tramway Board hereby makes and levies
a special rate of 1 1/2d. in the pound upon the rateable value
of all rateable property (according to the capital value
thereof) of the Riccarton-Sockburn Sub-district of the said
Christchurch Tramways District, comprising all that area of
land in the Canterbury Land District commencing at the
corner of Alliance Street and the West Belt, being the south-
eastern corner of Section 10; thence extending northerly
along the western side of the said West Belt to Fendalton
Road; thence north-westerly along the Fendalton Road to
the Christchurch-Hurunui Railway line; thence southerly
along the railway-line to the Waimairi Stream; thence
generally in a north-westerly direction along the Waimairi
Stream and the Coringa Road to the Kaiapoi Junction or
Russley Road; thence south-westerly along the last-
mentioned road to Yaldhurst Road; thence westerly along
the Yaldhurst Road to a point north-west of and 40 chains
distant from the Hornby Junction Road; thence south-
westerly in a straight line to the north-west corner of
Section 1490; thence southerly along the north-west
boundaries of Sections 1490, 1305, and Gilberthorp’s Road
to Factory Road; thence across Factory Road and along
the western boundary of Section 1792 to the South Road,
and westerly along the South Road to a point in line with
the south-west boundary of Section 1605; thence across
South Road and south-easterly along the said south-western
boundary of Section 1605 to Shand’s Road; thence south-
westerly along Shand’s Road to a point opposite the south-
western boundary of Section 1239; thence south-easterly
across Shand’s Road, and along the south-west boundaries
of Sections 1239, 1238, 1247, 1510, 1511, and northerly along
the south-east boundary of Section 1511 to Chapel Road;
thence south-easterly along Chapel Road to the Middle
Lincoln Road; thence north-easterly along Middle Lin-
coln Road, and north-westerly along the Lincoln-Riccar-
ton Junction Road to the South Railway line; thence
easterly along the railway-line to Cutler’s Road; thence
northerly along Cutler’s Road to the southern boundary of
Section 153; thence easterly, passing Sections 153, 153A, 155,
145, and 10 to the commencing-point.
And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-
yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of thirty years from 1st October, 1904, until the
loan is fully paid off.
And it is hereby further resolved that the above resolution
shall be confirmed at a meeting of the Board to be held in
the Board’s office, Falsgrave Street, on Thursday, the 21st
day of June, 1906, at the hour of 4 p.m.
