Returning Officer for First Election of Members of Motueka Harbour Board appointed.

HIS Excellency the Governor has, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the 8th section of “The Motueka Harbour Board Act, 1905,” appointed William Boyce to be Returning Officer to conduct the first election of members of the Motueka Harbour Board, which is to be held on the 5th day of February, 1906.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve, under “The Defence Act, 1886,” “The Defence Act Amendment Act, 1900,” and regulations thereunder, of the appointment of Brevet-Colonel RICHARD HUTTON DAVIES, C.B., New Zealand Militia, Officer Commanding Auckland District; Lieutenant-Colonel EDMUND WILLIAM PORRITT, No. 2 Battalion, Auckland (Hauraki) Infantry Volunteers; and Captain ARTHUR CHARLES HUBBARD, No. 1 Company, Ohinemuri Rifle Volunteers, as Trustees of the Paeroa Rifle Range Reserve, being portion of Te-Puru-o-te-Rangi, Block XIII, Ohinemuri Survey District, containing 2 acres 3 roods 32 perches; portion of Old Goldfields Boundary Road, Block XIII, Ohinemuri Survey District, containing 1 rood 21 perches; portion of Section No. 8, Block XIII, Ohinemuri Survey District, containing 2 acres and 11 perches; Section No. 3, Suburbs of Paeroa, containing 4 acres 2 roods 10 perches; and Section No. 24, Block XIII, Ohinemuri Survey District, containing 6 acres 2 roods 28 perches.

Volunteers dismissed.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve, under clause 50 of “The Defence Act, 1886,” of the dismissal of
No. 103, Private FREDERICK JAMES PARSONS; and No. 140, Private HARRY WILLIAMS, both of the Otamatea Mounted Rifle Volunteers, they having been convicted at Auckland of an offence against the Civil law, and sentenced to imprisonment for twelve months each. Dismissal to date from the 27th November, 1905.

HIS Excellency the Governor has, in pursuance of section 48 of “The Land Act, 1892,” approved of the meetings of the Auckland Land Board being held at 10 a.m. on the first Thursday after the last Wednesday in each month during the year 1906.

Special Order made by the Frankley Road Board.

THE following special order, made by the Frankley Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

FRANKLEY ROAD BOARD.
Copy of Special Order.
NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting held on Saturday, the 25th day of November, 1905, the following resolution was passed:- In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and all other powers if thereunto enabling it, the Frankley Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £50, being 10 per cent. on a previous loan of £500, authorised to be raised by the Frankley Road Board, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for completing the forming and metalling on the Frankley Park Road from the Frankley Road south-eastwards, the said Frankley Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/8d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Frankley Park Special-rating District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, at 4 per centum per annum, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Notice is hereby given that the Frankley Road Board proposes to confirm the foregoing resolution as a special order at a meeting of the Board to be held at the office of the Board, Currie Street, New Plymouth, at 1.30 p.m., on Saturday, 23rd day of December, 1905, in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Acts Amendment Act, 1905.”

I hereby certify that the above special order was passed at a special meeting of the Frankley Road Board held on the 25th day of November, 1905, and duly confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the said Board held on the 23rd day of December, 1905.
