SCHEDULE.
LINDSAY SETTLEMENT (MOUNT VERNON ESTATE).
ALL that piece or parcel of land, containing by admeasurement, exclusive of roads and railways, 6,385 acres, more or less, situate in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, being Blocks 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 72, 80, and parts of Blocks 3, 5, 10, 11, 14, 70, 71, 81, and 82, Waipukurau Crown-grant District, and portions of Blocks 85 and 145, Ruataniwha Crown-grant District, and also portions of stopped roads intersecting certain of the above-mentioned blocks. Bounded towards the north-east and north generally by the Waipawa River and other portions of said Blocks 85 and 145; towards the west and south generally by the Waipawamate Stream and the Tukituki River; towards the east, south, and west generally by other portions of said Blocks 3, 5, 70, 82, 70, 10, 71, 81, 11, and 14, and by a road; again towards the south by the Tukituki River; and towards the south-east and east generally by Native land and by other portions of said Block 14: the above land being intersected by roads and railway: hereafter to be known as part Section 14 and the whole of Sections 15 and 16, Block V.; Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15, Block X.; Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, and 24, Block XI.; Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9, Block XV.; Sections 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24, Block XIV., Waipukurau Survey District: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.G. 19283, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged with red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and six.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twelfth day of March, 1906.

THE HONOURABLE W. HALL-JONES PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is Native land and is required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1903,” for scenic purposes:
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners, and the title thereto is not derived from the Crown:
And whereas a map of the said land has been prepared in duplicate, as required by the eighty-ninth section of “The Public Works Act, 1905”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1903,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby proclaim and declare that the land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, is hereby taken for scenic purposes as aforesaid; and the said land shall vest in His Majesty the King as from the fourteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of March, 1906.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE R. J. SEDDON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the sixteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and two, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and two, certain regulations were made, under the authority of “The Post Office Act, 1900” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), prescribing the form of postal notes and authorising the issue thereof and the payment thereof: And it is expedient to amend such regulations in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby revoke regulation numbered 11, (a), prescribing that duplicate postal notes shall not be issued, made by the aforementioned Order in Council, and in lieu thereof doth make the regulations set forth in the Schedule hereto; and doth order and declare that such substitute regulations shall be read as part of the regulations hereinbefore mentioned in the places indicated by their numbers, and shall have effect on and after the date of the publication of this Order in Council in the New Zealand Gazette.

POSTAL-NOTE REGULATIONS.
Postal Notes lost or destroyed.
11A. A DUPLICATE of a lost or destroyed postal note may be issued after the expiration of six months from the date of issue of the original postal note, provided that the number of the postal note is known and the person claiming the amount can satisfactorily prove that he is entitled to the same: Provided also that when there is undoubted evidence of the destruction of a postal note, and the number is known, a duplicate may be issued forthwith.
11B. The person to whom a duplicate postal note is issued shall be required to give a guarantee in writing to refund the amount should the original postal note be at any time paid, and no payment of a duplicate postal note shall be made until the aforesaid guarantee is given.
