And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 2nd day of January and the 2nd day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off, and the loan is for two successive years' expenditure.

THE following special order, made by the Pohangina County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

POHANGINA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order making Special Rate.

THAT, by way of special order and under the provisions of “The Counties Act, 1886,” “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and their amendments respectively, the Council of the County of Pohangina hereby resolves to raise by way of special loan the sum of £200 for the purpose of constructing river-protective works at a point known as Holly’s Hill, and that a special rate of ½d. in the one pound sterling be and the same is hereby made and levied upon the capital value of the whole of the rateable property comprised in the Pohangina Township and suburban sections, and Sections 11, B. II; 1, 6, 7, 46, 49, 50, 51, 52, and 53, B. III; 14, 15, 16, 18, 29, 30, 34, B. VI; 5, B. VII; 71, 72, 73, 74, B. IX; 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, B. X, Pohangina S.D.; 15, 16, 17, B. XII; 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 26, 27, 46, B. XVI, Apiti S.D.; and 5 and 8, B. X, Umutoi S.D., as security for the payment of instalments of principal and interest and other charges on the said loan—so much of such special rate to be levied year by year during the currency of the said loan as shall be sufficient to provide such instalments of principal and interest and other charges thereon; and that such special rate be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Passed at a special meeting of the Council, this 22nd day of November, 1905; confirmed this 13th day of January, 1906.

THE following special order, made by the Lower Hutt Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

LOWER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Special Order passed on 1st December, 1905.—Rates as Security for £52,000 Loan.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, the Council of the Borough of Lower Hutt hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges, and for a sinking fund should the Council think fit to provide one, on the loan of £52,000, authorised to be raised by a poll of the ratepayers of the said borough, including all persons entitled to vote on proposals to raise loans, taken on the 3rd day of November, 1905, under the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and its amendments, and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, for the construction and provision of a drainage and sewerage system for the borough and other sanitary works, and in the construction and provision for the borough of a water-supply system and all works and equipment in connection therewith (including the taking or acquisition of lands or other rights), and in and upon the construction, widening, or improvement of streets, payment of the purchase-money, or compensation for or in respect of streets acquired, dedicated, or widened, and in the acquisition of land for gravel and metal pits, and of road-making machinery, and generally in and about the improvement of the streets of the borough as hereinafter set forth—

Street-improvements, as above mentioned 4,800

—the Council of the said borough hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1⅔d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) on all rateable property in the borough, such special rate to be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be payable yearly on the 4th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Confirmation.

The foregoing resolution was duly confirmed as a special order, and the common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Lower Hutt was affixed hereto, pursuant to a resolution passed at the ordinary meeting of the said Council held in the Council Chambers, Main Road, Lower Hutt, at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, the 8th day of January, 1906.
