My Lord,—I have the honour to acquaint you, for the information of your Ministers, that His Majesty will not be advised to exercise his powers of disallowance with respect to the Act 5 Edward VII, No. 44, of the Parliament of New Zealand, entitled “An Act to amend the Law relating to Maori Lands,” of which copies accompanied your despatch No. 75, of the 16th November last.

THE following special order, made by the Greymouth Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

BOROUGH OF GREYMOUTH.
Special Order.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Greymouth Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £15,000, authorised to be raised by the Greymouth Borough Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” to be expended on the undertakings hereunder set forth, viz.—
Crowning, rolling and channelling existing streets .. .. .. .. .. £ 5,193
Construction of new streets, Blaketown .. 500
Construction portion Palmerston and Buccleugh Streets .. .. .. .. .. 280
Construction street, freehold, Town Belt .. 108

each of the above sums being appropriated to the work as above set forth—the said Greymouth Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1¾d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property (on the unimproved value) in the Borough of Greymouth; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of May and the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
And it is hereby resolved by special order that the Greymouth Borough Council may pay the interest and sinking fund on the above loan out of its general fund, and in such case it shall not be necessary to levy or collect such special rate.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.
Waingaro-Tainui Special-rating District.—Special Order.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Raglan County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £8,000, authorised to be raised by the Raglan County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the formation and metalling of the Ngaruawahia—Waimai Main Road and improvements to the Waingaro Beach Road, the said Raglan County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Waingaro-Tainui Special-rating District.
The boundaries of the special-rating district are as follows: Beginning at the point where northern boundary of Newcastle Survey District intersects the coast-line; thence along said survey boundary-line to intersection of parish boundary-line; thence south along parish boundary-line to northern boundary of Section 216; thence east along northern boundary and eastern boundary of said section to Waimai Stream; thence along Waimai Stream to boundary of Section 178; thence northerly along north-western boundaries of Sections 178, 189, 186, and 88; thence east along northern boundary of Section 88, and south along eastern boundary of Section 88; thence along western boundary of
