The Council proposes to pledge an annually recurring
special rate of ½d. in the pound sterling on the unimproved
rateable value of all the rateable property within the borough
as security for the said loan of £2,350 and interest and other
charges thereon.
It is proposed that the whole amount of the loan shall be
repayable at the expiration of a term not exceeding forty-one
years, to be computed from the date of raising the loan.
And at such poll the number of votes recorded was 194 for
the said proposal and 122 against the proposal; informal
votes, 16.
I do hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.

Result of Poll.
NOTICE is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of
the Borough of Petone, including all persons entitled to vote
on proposals to raise loans, was duly taken at the Odd Fellows’
Hall, Petone, on Wednesday, the 21st day of February, 1906,
upon the following proposal:—
A proposal to borrow by way of special loan, within the
meaning of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its
amendments, the sum of £3,000, to be expended in the
purchase of a site for stores and other accommodation,
and for the extinguishing of private rights in the Petone
foreshore in connection with the erection of a wharf on the
aforesaid foreshore by the Wellington Harbour Board.
The Council proposes to pledge an annually recurring
special rate of ¹⁄₁₆d. in the pound sterling on the un-
improved rateable value of all the rateable property within
the borough as security for the said loan of £3,000 and
interest and other charges thereon. It is proposed that
the whole amount of the loan shall be repayable at the
expiration of a term not exceeding forty-one years, to be
computed from the date of raising the loan.
And at such poll the number of votes recorded was 211 for
the said proposal, and 107 against the proposal; informal
votes, 12.

proposals to raise loans, was duly taken at the Odd Fellows’
Hall, Petone, on Wednesday, the 21st day of February, 1906,
upon the following proposal:—
A proposal to borrow by way of special loan, within the
meaning of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its
amendments, the sum of £2,000, to be expended on the
completion of the erection of municipal shops and offices,
for furnishing and equipping the same, and for paying all
professional fees in connection with the erection thereof.
The Council proposes to pledge as security for the loan the

freehold of Sections 1 and 2, D.P. 51, being part of Sec-
tion 5, Hutt District, subject to a special loan of £5,000
(1905), and a further security of an annually recurring
special rate of ¹⁄₂₄d. in the pound sterling on the unimproved
rateable value of all the rateable property within the
borough, this also to cover interest and other charges on the
aforesaid loan of £2,000.
It is proposed that the whole amount of the loan shall be
repayable at the expiration of a term not exceeding fifteen
years, to be computed from the day on which the poll is taken.
And at such poll the number of votes recorded was 190 for
the said proposal, and 129 against the said proposal; in-
formal votes, 13.
I do hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.

formation of roads and railway, equipment of plant, and all
works and surveys in connection therewith.
The Council proposes to pledge an annually recurring special
rate of ¹⁄₈d. in the pound sterling on unimproved rateable
property within the borough as security for the said loan
of £2,500 and the interest and other charges thereon. It is
proposed that the whole amount of the loan shall be repay-
able at the expiration of a term of forty-one years, to be
computed from the day on which the poll is taken.
And at such poll the number of votes recorded was 229 for
the said proposal, and 89 votes against the proposal; informal
votes, 14.
I do hereby declare the said proposal to be carried.
