Trustee of Oamaru Racecourse appointed.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS William Bee, of Oamaru, was appointed to be a Trustee of the Oamaru Racecourse, under the provisions of an Ordinance of the Provincial Council of Otago intituled “The Oamaru Racecourse Reserve Management Ordinance, 1870”: And whereas the said William Bee has resigned his office as Trustee of the said Oamaru Racecourse, and it is therefore necessary to appoint another person to be a Trustee in the room of the said William Bee: Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the aforesaid Ordinance, and by “The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875,” do hereby appoint
JOHN MARSHALL BROWN,
of Oamaru, to be a permanent Trustee and member of the corporate body appointed under the said “Oamaru Racecourse Reserve Management Ordinance, 1870,” by the name and style of “The Trustees of the Oamaru Racecourse,” in the room of the said William Bee.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of December, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and six.

Crown Land reserved under “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1903.”

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1903” (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may appoint a Commission who may inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there may be thermal springs, and report thereon to the Governor, with recommendations as to what lands should be reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas such Commission was duly appointed, and, after inspection, recommended that the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereunder should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation: Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be reserved under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
PAPATOWAI BUSH.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 156 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Sections Nos. 132 to 152 and 154 to 156, inclusive, together with the closed streets, Town of Papatowai. Bounded towards the north generally by Lily Street and by the Esplanade, 2438 and 646 links respectively; towards the east generally by the said Esplanade, 3558 and 1400 links; towards the south-west by Section No. 153 and Laura Street, 608 links; towards the south-east by the said Laura Street, 922 links; towards the north-east by the said Laura Street and by Juliet Street, 510 links; again towards the south-east by the Esplanade, 2,435 links; again towards the south-west by the south-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 155 and 156, and by a line across Laura Street to the southern corner of Section No. 143, 2128 links; and towards the west generally by Caroline Street, 5484 links: exclusive of that part of Laura Street which intersects the above-described area: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 53579/28, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The River Boards Act, 1884,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the thirty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and six, that part of the said colony described in the Schedule hereto, the limits whereof are entirely included within the limits of the County of Amuri, shall be and the same is hereby constituted a district under the said Act, and shall be known by the name of the “Waiau Township River District,” and in further pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act I hereby proclaim and declare the Council of the County of Amuri to be the River Board of the said river district.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District bounded by a line commencing at the foot of the terrace at the easternmost corner of River Conservation Reserve No. 3655 (Annan Settlement), on the eastern bank of the Mason River; thence south-westerly and south-easterly along the eastern banks of the Mason and Waiau-uha Rivers to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Block XXII, Township of Waiau; thence north-easterly to and along the said south-eastern boundary to the foot of the terrace; thence along the foot of the terrace on the eastern side of Blocks XXIII, XXIV, and XXV to the easternmost corner of Block XXV; thence in a straight line to the easternmost corner of Block XVIII; and thence again along the foot of the terrace to the place of commencement at the easternmost corner of Reserve No. 3655.

And whereas the Native owners have agreed to make a free gift of the said land to His Majesty the King, and it has been made to appear that such agreement is sufficient for the purposes intended to be effected thereby:
