BOROUGH OF PICTON.
In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,”
and of “The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901,” and the
Acts amending the same respectively.
I hereby give notice that on the 4th day of December, 1906,
a proposal was submitted by the Picton Borough Council to
the ratepayers of the Borough of Picton for raising a special
loan of £300 for the purpose of constructing a bridge to
Victoria Domain; and the number of votes recorded
respectively for and against the proposal was as follows:
For, 96; against, 15; informal, 1.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor of the
Borough of New Plymouth, are published in accordance
with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1901.”

BOROUGH OF NEW PLYMOUTH.
In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”
Proposed Special Loan of £10,000.
I, EDWARD DOCKRILL, Mayor of the Borough of New Ply-
mouth, in the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the
provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and
of all other powers thereunto enabling me, do hereby give
notice that on the 7th day of December, 1906, a poll of the
said borough was duly taken, under the provisions of the
said Act, on a proposal of the Council of the said borough
to borrow a sum of £10,000 by way of special loan, a copy of
the notice in respect of which is next hereinafter set out,
and that on the taking of the said poll 234 electors voted for
the said proposal, and 95 voted against it, and 10 votes were
informal, and that accordingly the said proposal and the
resolution in favour thereof have been carried.

NOTICE OF PROPOSED LOAN.
Proposed Special Loan of £10,000.
The Council of the Borough of New Plymouth hereby gives
public notice that it proposes to borrow by way of special
loan the sum of £10,000, at a rate of interest not exceeding
£5 per centum per annum, with a sinking fund of ½ per centum
additional, the loan to be repayable on a period ending the
1st day of October, 1922, and to be for the following pur-
poses: £10,000 to pay all liabilities already incurred in connection
with the electric-light installation;
to provide additions and extensions to the electric lighting,
either within or without the borough, and to supply elec-
tricity; to acquire in connection with such additions and
extensions lands, easements, and appurtenances, and build-
ings, engines, machinery, and other things; to pay com-
pensation to any person injuriously affected; and any other
purposes incidental to or in relation to any of the above
purposes.
The Council proposes to pledge as security for the loan of
£10,000 and the interest thereon an annually recurring special
rate of 2½d. in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis
of the annual value) of all rateable property within the
borough, and its revenues, rents, tolls, issues, and profits,
with the exception of all land taken, acquired, or used for
public abattoir, and all buildings, erections, structures, and
appurtenances now or hereafter thereto belonging, and the
revenues, rents, tolls, and profits therefrom, and also except-
ing moneys received or receivable by way of grant from the
Government.
The Council proposes that the first year's interest, all pre-
liminary expenses incurred in connection with the scheme
for which the loan is raised, and the cost of raising the loan
be paid out of the proceeds of such loan.

mouth, in the Colony of New Zealand, do solemnly and
sincerely declare as follows: (1.) That all proceedings re-
quired by law to be taken in or towards obtaining the
sanction of the electors to the proposal described in the
copy-notice above set forth have been duly taken. (2.) That
upon a poll of the said electors taken on the said proposal
on the 7th day of December, 1906, the said proposal was
duly carried within the meaning of “The Local Bodies'
Loans Act, 1901.” And I make this solemn declaration
conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue
of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New
Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

provisions of “The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901,” and
of all other powers thereunto enabling me, do hereby give
notice that on the 7th day of December, 1906, a poll of the
said borough was duly taken, under the provisions of the
said Act, on a proposal of the Council of the said borough to
borrow the sum of £1,000 by way of special loan, a copy of
the notice in respect of which is next hereinafter set out,
and that on the taking of the said poll 208 electors voted for
the said proposal, and 120 voted against it, and 11 were in-
formal, and that accordingly the said proposal and the resolu-
tion in favour thereof have been carried.
