tion to pay out of loan cost of raising same and first year’s
interest.
The above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting
of the Raglan County Council held on the 17th day of Octo-
ber, 1906, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said
Council held on the 28th day of November, 1906.

County Council, is published in accordance with
the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Raglan
County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the
purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan
of £500, authorised to be raised by the Raglan County
Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of
widening and metalling the Matakītaki cuttings and form-
ing a road in the Matakītaki Special-rating District, the said
Raglan County Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rate-
able property of the Matakītaki Special-rating District. The
boundaries of the special-rating district are as follows: From
the north-east corner of Section 92 to the south-east corner
of same section, eastward to north-east corner of Sec-
tion 100, southward to south-east corner of same section,
thence westward to south-west corner of Section 95, thence
northward to north-west corner of Section 95, thence east-
ward to north-east corner of Section 95, thence north to
north-west corner of Section 94, eastward to north-east
corner of Section 94, thence north to north-west corner of
Section 92, thence eastward to point of commencement. And
that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable half-
yearly on the 1st day of July and the 1st day of January in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off;
and it is the intention to pay out of loan cost of raising same
and first year’s interest.

the City of Christchurch, is published in accordance
with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1901.”

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.
Municipal Offices Loan, £6,000.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,”
“The City of Christchurch Municipal Offices Act, 1906,” and
“The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Christchurch City
Council hereby resolves by special order as follows: (a.) To
borrow by way of special loan a sum of £6,000, at interest at
the rate of 4½ per centum per annum, for the purpose of pay-
ing off the sum of £6,000 borrowed by it under the authority
of “The City of Christchurch Municipal Offices Act, 1886.”
That the security for the said loan shall be a special rate of
½d. in the pound to be made and levied upon the whole of
the rateable property within the Central Ward as now consti-
tuted of the City of Christchurch, and that the said loan
shall be repayable at the office of the Christchurch City
Council, in the City of Christchurch, upon the 30th day of
December, 1916. It is not proposed to pay out of the
loan the cost of raising the loan, or the interest for the
first year. (b.) That, for the purpose of providing
the interest and other charges on the said loan of
£6,000 so authorised to be raised by the Christchurch
City Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the
purpose of paying off the sum of £6,000 borrowed by it
under the authority of “The City of Christchurch Muni-
cipal Offices Act, 1886,” the said Christchurch City Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅓₀d. in the pound
upon the rateable value of all rateable property comprised
within the Central Ward of the said City of Christchurch,
the boundaries of which said ward are defined in the Supple-
ment to the New Zealand Gazette, No. 23, dated 1st April,
1903, page 884; and that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens
of the City of Christchurch was hereto affixed in the
presence of—

We hereby certify that the above special order was duly
adopted at a special meeting of the Christchurch City Council
held on the 12th day of November, 1906, and was duly con-

BOROUGH OF PICTON.
In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,”
and of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the Acts
amending the same respectively.
I HEREBY give notice that on the 4th day of December,
1906, a proposal was submitted by the Picton Borough
Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Picton for
raising a special loan of £1,000 for the purpose of lighting
the township with acetylene gas; and that the number of
votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was
as follows: For, 98; against, 11; informal, 3.
And I declare the said proposal to be carried.
