Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in the Boundaries of the Borough of Hawksbury, County of Waikouaiti.

PURSUANT to section 176 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him, praying that the said area may be excluded from the Borough of Hawksbury and included in the County of Waikouaiti.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice.
Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Colonial Secretary, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE BOROUGH OF HAWKSBURY AND INCLUDED IN THE WAIKOUAITI COUNTY.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, situated in the Hawksbury Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a right line from the southernmost corner of Section No. 80, Block V., to the north-western corner of Section No. 2, Block IV.; thence towards the east by the last-mentioned section to its south-western corner; thence again towards the north by the said Section No. 2 to the Main Trunk Railway Reserve; thence towards the south-east generally by the said Main Trunk Railway Reserve to the westernmost corner of the said reserve near the point where the railway-line crosses the main road at the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 17, Block VI.; thence by a right line to the northernmost corner of Allotment No. 45 of Section No. 17 aforesaid; thence by Allotments Nos. 45, 44, 43, 42, and 41 of Sections Nos. 17 and 18, Block VI. aforesaid, the abutment of a road; Allotments Nos. 40, 39, 38, 37, 36, and 35, Section No. 18, Block VI. aforesaid; Allotments Nos. 34, 33, 32, 31, 30, and 29, Section No. 16, Block VI. aforesaid, the abutment of a road; Allotments Nos. 27, 26, 25, 24, 23, 2a, and 1a, Section No. 16 aforesaid; and the production of the northern boundary-line of the last-mentioned allotment in a westerly direction along the northern boundaries of four allotments of Section No. 16 aforesaid; thence by a right line at a right angle to the last-mentioned boundary-line to the Main North Road; thence by the Main North Road to Mill Road; thence by the said Mill Road to Quarry Road; thence towards the south-west by the said Quarry Road through Sections Nos. 57 and 58, Block V., to the south-eastern boundary-line of the said Section No. 57; and thence towards the north-west by the last-mentioned section, by Section No. 71, by the road forming part of the south-eastern boundary of the said Section No. 71 and forming the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 72, 73, 74, 75, 84, and 83, Block V. aforesaid; and by Section No. 82 to the southernmost corner of Section No. 80 aforesaid, the place of commencement.
